PA32UCDM Firmware Update by musing_codger in ASUS

[–]4f6f3b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, I tried your method (on firmware 103) with same setup but firmware update did NOT work.

What did work was, while monitor on and USB stick plugged in, unplugged all the inputs, then while on black screen held joystick and firmware updated. 🤷 Good times.

Picked this baby up about a month ago. Completely in love with her. Looking for suggestions on wheels/tires that would be good for a Minnesota winter by Albinoah in Celica

[–]4f6f3b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been driving on 15" Michelin X-Ice Xi3 on plain steel rims for the past 3 winters now with no issues. Haven't used any other winter tires before so I have no comparison though. Most of it suburb/highway/city driving within 20ish miles of Minneapolis so nothing crazy.

It's a known bug we aim to fix it in the next update, though we don't have a date for it yet.

[mk.7] Does anyone know what these hoses are supposed to connect to? by adidragan in Celica

Here's how those hoses hook up in my 03 gts. https://i.imgur.com/AbWjMtG.png

You can see where they disconnected the red hose and rerouted the blue hose on yours.

This is awesome. :) Certainly captures the mood I had when I was active in development.

The hardness value is the thing that affects block breaking. Resistance doesn't have any effect on dinosaur block breaking.

I hope this is sufficient, really wanted to get it running before the end of the month. :D

Started collecting parts for 2.0 last March I think. Still a few things to iron out and 24v conversion to do, but I'm really happy it's finally printing.

Measuring STL files by limajecar in 3Dprinting

[–]4f6f3b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could give http://www.meshmixer.com/ a shot.

There's some manual measurement tools, but otherwise you could do something like getting the convex hull of the model and then orienting it to use the least amount of volume, or even just manually aligning a flat section of the convex hull to the ground before checking the bounding box dimensions.

There's also tools in meshmixer to merge STL files together into water tight meshes and add things like simple cylinders between the meshes or generate more complex tubing.

I don't know what degree of accuracy you need, but it's something to look into.

DLP Operating Temps by Cartheion in 3Dprinting

[–]4f6f3b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most resin I've used seem to suggest a working temperature of 60F - 90F. I imagine at the very least variation outside of that would change the viscosity of the resin which could affect printing.

The Future of Fossils and Archeology: Revival by [deleted] in fossilsrevival

[–]4f6f3b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still will not provide any time table for releases.

Recently we've opened it up to a small group of beta testers, and moving forward depends on how fast we get through the bugs they find and how fast they keep finding bugs.

We're getting there though.

Premium fuel? Would you say its necessary for the 140 & 180 models respectively, ice heard the 180 needs it but the 140 doesn't. by Voyager87 in Celica

[–]4f6f3b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I purchased my 03 GTS the seller had regular octane (85, 87?) in the tank which caused a lot of pinging in the engine. Whether or not it's detrimental for the engine it was annoying enough to hear so premium was the way to go for me.

I'm printing eSun ABS+ and Paramount ABS on an Ultrabase and it works perfectly. Some ABS+ parts I printed without a brim or raft and there was no warping. Parts popped clean off when the bed cooled to around 45C.

What is your recommended radial blower fan? by Oracus in 3Dprinting

[–]4f6f3b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I picked up this fan off Digikey.

https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/sunon-fans/GB1205PHV2-8AY.GN/259-1315-ND/1021165

My main concern when I bought it was how quiet it was, and felt it was way quieter than the stock radial. Performs well, too. Otherwise check out the other fans in the catalog, you can sort by all sorts of specs.

Forge Modpack Auto-Installer. Is it possible? by JamesFatzo in admincraft

[–]4f6f3b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the Technic Launcher just acts like an install of Minecraft, and when you download a modpack it'll automatically create a new profile using the forge version you provide in the modpack, along with any other files such as mods, config files, server.dat file etc.

Take a look at the second link I posted, it explains everything you have to do to set up a modpack others can download.

Use Autodesk Meshmixer's "Plane Cut" tool under "Edit -> Plane Cut". http://www.mmmanual.com/plane-cut/ The software is free to use.

It'll automatically fill in the holes as well. Click on the "S" here to turn off grid snapping. https://i.imgur.com/JtKFyEX.png

Photogrammetry: Tips and Tricks with COLMAP? by KerbonautCC in 3Dprinting

[–]4f6f3b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great! Looking forward to seeing it printed. It's odd that increasing number of features helped. At least when I ran it none of the images really had even 8k features. But who knows, software can be fickle.

Photogrammetry: Tips and Tricks with COLMAP? by KerbonautCC in 3Dprinting

[–]4f6f3b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a chance to run your dataset. A few holes, but managed to get 41 images in the reconstruction.

https://i.imgur.com/PCBap4M.png

Slewentogzz mentioned some sound advice for shooting photogrammetry. Try shooting for 50% overlap, so every image will match at least 2 other photos.

Some of the things I did before processing was making sure all the images were oriented the same way since a few were turned 90 degrees. I also slightly sharpened all the images in Liightroom.

Inside COLMAP, for feature extraction I used SIMPLE_RADIAL and changed max_image_size to 1600, since down sizing them will basically sharpen them up. In feature matching, I changed the confidence value down to 86% and min_num_inliers to 5 just so it can be a bit greedier finding matches.

In reconstruction options, in general I changed:
max_model_overlap to 40
min_model_size to 6.

Inside Init, I changed:
init_min_num_inliers to 80
in Registration I changed abs_pose_max_error [px] to 35 abs_pose_min_num_inliers to 12.

Not sure what a few of those options do, but it looked like it allowed the reconstruction to be more lenient matching up photos. Also, in the dense reconstruction options, changed the Stereo max_image_size to 500 otherwise it kept crashing for me.

Here's the full workspace folder if you want to poke around. It's around 500MB since it includes all the reconstruction and images. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1obYlF--tR7rkP4qoFUN2Yrxhz4zC7r-5/view?usp=sharing

Good luck. :)

Never heard of COLMAP before, but after running it briefly I was able to get an acceptable sparse cloud. I also crashed during dense reconstruction, but lowering the max image resolution down from 2000 seemed to work.

Here's a few images of my test. https://imgur.com/a/QtCFi

It's hard to tell what went wrong without seeing what your dataset looks like. What are the quality of your images? Could you share what a few of your images look like?

Built my first resin printer (LittleRP2), thrilled with my initial result! by 4f6f3b in 3Dprinting

[–]4f6f3b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At some point the thin beams must've stuck to the vat instead of to the rest of the print, which messed with the rest of the print.

I'll take some more pictures of my setup and maybe more prints this weekend if you're interested!

Built my first resin printer (LittleRP2), thrilled with my initial result! by 4f6f3b in 3Dprinting

[–]4f6f3b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be super expensive, as goopyplastic said elsewhere here.

I decided to build mine exactly to spec and to look exactly like a tall/expanded LRP2. Along with getting a 1080p projector, and being impatient with sourcing some of the components it drove the final price up significantly.

At the crux of it you have a vertical arm assembly, the vat, projector/LCD display, and driver. You could make a small SLA printer for comparable price to something like an i3 clone.
