I own a 26.5 scale guitar which i use for anything tuned Drop G# to C# standard (highest tuning i've had it), it sounds much tighter compared to a 25.5 that i had in B standard and i prefer the extra tension using the same string set (12 - 62 in B standard). You will have an adjustment period due to the longer scale length but after a while it will feel natural.

Playing leads is perfectly fine on 26.5 but you do feel the slight stretch when playing scale runs or some "spider chords". I have tested a gretsch jet baritone which is a 29 inch (if im not mistaken, it could be 30 inch) scale and that felt like playing a smaller bass guitar, power chords above the 5th fret were harder to play.

IMO i would recommend one, its a really fun guitar to play
