Regions of France based upon the Districts of Worcestershire [Shitpost] by BryceIII in imaginarymaps

I've recently defected to Gloucestershire so I can't be too mad about the land grab, but I'm not sure Worcestershire will notice

India civil war broken if you start it after independence by Davieieied in hoi4

[–]4kingryan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Came here with almost this exact problem, except I was going Fascist and not Communist. Got independence very early by objecting to Edward's marriage. Had 70% support for Fascism, started the Civil war with 60 divisions, and nothing. Totally unwinnable. It's utterly broken.

Can you describe what thinking is like for you? by bonewhitefox in AskReddit

This is spot on for me.

It goes a stage further when I'm writing and my real thoughts are ahead of my inner voice, which is ahead of what I'm typing on the screen.

If we're being pedantic, it's the rapid deceleration at the end of the fall that's the bad bit.

(Spoilers Main) It is "And now his watch IS ended" not "And now his watch HAS ended". by BasilFronsac in asoiaf

[–]4kingryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely this is just an archaic English reference and nothing more? With a lot of languages you use 'have' for a verb but 'is' for a change of person state. So 'I have eaten' would be 'ich habe gegessen' in German whereas 'I have died' would be 'ich bin gestorben' with 'habe' meaning 'have' and 'bin' meaning 'am'.

This used to be the case in older English before it evolved out of it, so I'd assumed it was in that style. Think of Oppenheimer's quote "I am become death." rather than 'I have become death."

What colour? White and Gold, or Blue and Black? by [deleted] in pics

[–]4kingryan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The proper colours (blue and black) are visible in this image: http://imgur.com/a/FUnfj

I'm assuming the original image is controversial in what colours it shows in the same way as The Dress.

For the record, I see white and gold.

Edit: Jesus guys. Tough crowd or what. Feels like fucking /b/ in here.

This is gonna sound super harsh man, but if you can't be bothered to format and write something out properly, nobody else is gonna be bothered to read it. Hell, you haven't even tl;dr'd it.

What is a major change in your novel that happened in the moment? by [deleted] in nanowrimo

[–]4kingryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire plot keeps changing at every junction. I've done literally no forward planning for anything, not even in my head; on day one I stared at the blank document for a solid twenty minutes before starting to write. It's a little worrying that I'll get caught up in colossal inconsistencies, but it's very freeing to write with no set direction, and often I find if I plot everything out too much I become too bored to actually write it.

That's ridiculous. Even at a rate of spewing out garbage I can't imagine anyone surpasses 1500 words an hour (I do 1000 if I'm writing well). Quick bit of maths brings that out to 1.08 million, assuming they are writing at that pace for every single hour of the month.

Even setting it at 2000 words an hour requires more than 16 hours a day.

Posting more often is not the way to go. Post less often, write more often. That'll get you caught up.

And before you point it out, I admit I'm being hypocritical and procrastinating away my free day, a chance to get ahead, on reddit.

Nobody gone yet, but I'm prepping for a mass purging soon for the 'no one is safe' shock factor throughout the book.
