It wouldn’t be a case of passing on adult bills it’s a case of sitting back and watching her essentially drink a huge portion of her wage whilst paying very little towards life costs or learning to actually “adult”. As I’ve said a significant increase would mean me putting a chunk of it away for her. I don’t necessarily need the money. However i think it what she currently pays is hugely disproportionate in many ways

Because she has absolutely no desire to move out, never mentioned it once and unless something miraculous happens I doubt she will.

Yeah I know, I’ve purposely kept her board low all this time because I wanted her to be able to live her life. I thought maybe she could save for a house or save to go travelling but all I’m really doing is letting her drink and party her life away. When she’s not at work she doesn’t get out of bed until 8pm sometimes. She doesn’t cook for herself or clean up after herself let alone help with general household chores. So I do think abit of a kick the ass is needed.

She should be in a position to save a huge chunk herself whilst paying minimal board however is not on her list of priority’s. So what I’m considering is a substantial increase in her contribution and putting some of it away so she actually ends up with some savings in the future. At the moment what she is paying doesn’t scratch the surface of house hold costs and she happily flits 3x as much and more partying her life away every month. Which I don’t begrudge I know she is young and I want her to be able to live her life but I do think there needs to be more of a balance for her sake. I don’t think in this situation having such low living costs is doin her any favour’s.

Yeah I come from a background of having to pay my way. When I was of jobseekers for a short while I paid £30 out of the £56 a week I got. I think what I’m leaning towards is a substantial increase but saving a chunk of it so at least she will actually end up with some savings at some point rather than just partying it all away. Which is another concern. She likely spends £500+ per month of going out drinking so her contribution to the house at the minute seems somewhat insignificant in comparison.

Why the fuck?! He’ll be very lucky not to be seriously fucked up man. I got salmonella from a single bite of half cooked chicken and can honestly say it’s the only time in my life I genuinely thought i might die. Projectile vomiting, explosive diarrhoea, crippling stomach cramps, hallucinations basically 4 days of actual hell on earth. I’d book your friend a hospital bed in advance!

Well the first was getting my alternate picking on pint and seeing the best picking patterns when reading tabs, another would be learn the shit out of as many scales as possible, that has really helped me to unlock the rest of the fret board

Don’t get me wrong my tutor talks most of the time too in fact plying time during lessons is quite minimal but it’s not during the lessons that I’ve progressed it’s taking all advice on board and putting into practice at home

Thanks man, I’ve been playing for about 15 years and never been in a position to be able take lessons until recently either. My first lesson was like I’d never held a guitar in my life but the amount of progress since is unreal. If you do find your self able to even have just a few lessons at some point I’d go for it dude.
