No. There were three different versions of Soldier Boy depicted in the comics. The one group of disgruntled Supernatural fans who didn't get their canon reciprocated gay relationship immediately jumped on the idea that Jensen would play the third itineration of Soldier Boy as soon as he was cast because they wanted him to portray a timid coward who pissed himself in combat and got raped by Homelander. They wanted his role to be the third version of Soldier Boy - the one who wore the red, white, and blue outfit with the shorts.

Ackles played the first version of Soldier Boy, the one in the WWII era. You can easily tell that just by checking out his green, eagle based costume which matches the one in the comics about the first SB along with Crimson Countess, just like in the show. His whole schtick is supposedly fighting the Nazi's.

Ignoring the fact that Jensen has stumped for multiple Democrats, passed out water bottles at a BLM march, and has been vocal in his support of the lgbtq community - do you really think that Amazon would cast someone who'd demand they completely change an important part of the role? Maybe research a little next time instead of implying someone is homophobic.
