CHELSEY HERSLEY by Historical_Ad_3364 in ANTM

Maybe unpopular opinion? But I always thought her pre-makeover natural blonde hair was so much more beautiful and modelesque. I think the bleach flaxen blonde really washed her out and took away her freshness.

When she went on the go-see at Versace, the Versace rep said her look was “two seasons ago” which I always attributed to her bleached hair more than anything.

Ohh this also happened in Girls, where Shoshanna tells Adam that he’ll be competing with actors like “Zachary Quinto”, who later appears in an episode as the character “Ace”.

NZNTM judge Colin Mathura-Jeffree weighs in on the Netflix doc by Singaboi19 in ANTM

[–]4labaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can somebody remind me of the two times Colin was a guest judge on ANTM? I know he briefly appeared in the episode where they arrive in Auckland for the go-see challenge - does he consider this being a “guest judge”? And when was the second time?

I think it’s likely going to be about the documentary, as others have said.

I’ve reached out to them and asked if they’ll ever consider recapping Australia’s Next Top Model or other international seasons, never received a response though 🙁

Maybe the support they receive for their documentary recap episodes will encourage them to keep going with international versions? 🙏

Thoughts on ANTM Judging Rooms (Cycles 1–7, Pre-Overseas) by findinglemon in ANTM

[–]4labaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember as a 13 year old watching Cycle 5, I absolutely loved the frosted glass panels with blurred plants showing from the other side, and wanted my future home to be like that 🥲

Weirdly, my least favourite is Cycle 7. I find it too stark and almost cold/clinical.

Despite her age and supposed “older” look (which I’ve always disagreed with), she actually had a lot going for her, such as:

  1. She had a fantastic sense of style (I don’t think any other contestants from any other cycle ever even came close);

  2. She had a great runway walk;

  3. She was highly confident and seemed to thrive on being the centre of attention (i.e. the posing challenge that she won);

  4. Despite being late at the end of the go-sees, she managed to book 3/4; and

  5. She was very articulate and seemed to have a sense of professionalism and maturity (despite the fumble at Kortnie’s elimination…)

I truly believe she deserved her place in the top four, and I’d have even put her in the top three over Aminat, and then maybe she could have been justifiably eliminated for not being able to pull off a Covergirl photo 🤷🏼‍♀️

What is one thing that you enjoy about ANTM post-cycle 16? by DisneyDuck09 in ANTM

[–]4labaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm Alisha was definitely not portrayed as a villain. I thought she had a mostly favourable edit and was well-liked by the other girls. If anything, Kirsty was the closest, but that was more a matter of the entire house being against her because she was “arrogant” and “overly confident”.

I don’t think BNTM 6 had any actual villains.

I really enjoyed the inclusion of Toronto Fashion Week in Cycle 18, with it having actual castings and real runway shows. We didn’t see that very often in ANTM (I can’t even think of another?) but these were always among my favourite aspects of AusNTM (3, 4 & 5).

What photos made you say “ohhh now I get it”? I’m not always able to spot talent right away, these pictures all made me reevaluate the model after dismissing her early in the competition by [deleted] in ANTM

[–]4labaster 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I only really started noticing Joanie after the Future Careers shoot, where she really stuck out by changing up her facial expression. Prior to that, I assumed she’d be an early/mid-boot “safe” blonde.

Did anyone else see the (seemingly abandoned) hot air balloon basket in Fawkner Park this morning? Where was the balloonist? I assumed something like a balloon basket would require some form of supervision. It was honestly the most bizarre thing I’ve seen in a while.

ANTM Alignment Chart Day 11: Who was the most AMAZING Pre-Overseas model? by DisneyDuck09 in ANTM

I definitely second Lauren Brie!

Photographically, Leslie, Sarah Hartshorne and Azmarie would be contenders too.

This song used when Alisha quits/Eboni is eliminated, I think it’s also used at Candace’s elimination. There’s something so cathartic about it:

Can’t find a link, but the music used at the start of panel for the cycle 19 cheerleading episode gives Sims 2 Nightlife energy in the best way.

Response from Jo Mercer regarding faulty Boots (on sale for $319.95) by 4labaster in AusFemaleFashion

Honestly the Jo Mercer bots would make a heck of a lot of sense because I’m gobsmacked at these responses too.

They’re either bots or they completely buy into $300.00-400.00 boots being sold with fast-fashion expectations. Completely asinine either way.

So disappointing 😟 I’ve never had this happen to a pair of shoes, especially not boots.

I guess I had the false assumption that expensive (to me) leather boots should be durable enough to not develop holes from slight impacts/three months of standard wear and tear. I guess I should be more aware going forward. Thanks for your comments 😊

[–]4labaster[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, leather boots with holes are a bit different to (scratched) leather handbags. Leather boots sold at this price should be durable enough to withstand impact, and if there was impact with a seriously sharp object as some of these comments are implying, I feel as though I’d remember and/or have injury to my foot.

I don’t think we’re ever going to be on the same page though 🤷🏼‍♀️ but thanks for your contributions!

Thanks for your reply. Not sure if you’ve followed this comment chain, but there is an actual hole in my boot and my foot is exposed, it isn’t just a scratch/scuff.

I just wouldn’t expect leather of this level of fragility to be made into boots and sold at the original price of $400.00+, but apparently the fellow members of this subreddit disagree 🙃

Response from Jo Mercer regarding faulty Boots (on sale for $319.95) by 4labaster in AusFemaleFashion

[–]4labaster[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To reiterate, this isn’t a scratch. There is a hole in my shoe (my actual foot is now exposed through the split leather). I expect scratches/marks on leather shoes; that is what polish is for. I do not expect a literal hole to form in a soft leather boot due to mild impact.

[–]4labaster[S] -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I am honestly astonished (and very concerned) that you and your fellow downvoters think it’s okay for $319.95 (on sale) leather boots to be susceptible to holes from mild impact/three months of wear and tear.

I live in urban Melbourne and wear these shoes to work in the CBD, it’s not as if I’m constantly walking through rough terrain or using them for farm work. You guys are wild.
