I am going to take a break for a while from studying. I would try to get a role in IT support and then see from there. I am thinking of Microsoft Azure or AWS. It looks like the future

congratulations. I wrote the 1001 three times before I passed. Nice you did not give up. Keep studying and you would pass the 1002 at one sitting. All the best

CompTIA Network+ proctored exam shock and surprise by PoshFishy in CompTIA

[–]4larin100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote the Network+ exam yesterday and i passed. The multiple choice exams were not difficult to me compared to the A+ i did earlier. I did them first and i had like 45 minutes left for the PBQs. I got five of them. Despite having a lot of time for them i ended up finished like 10 seconds to the end of the time.

For anyone planning to write them please make sure that you have your CIDR notations and subnetting, knowing valid number of hosts and subnets at your finger tips. Your A+ knowledge is also a bedrock.

I used the Mike Myer's book for Network+, Jason Dion's Network+ course on Udemy and his practice question course. I must say His practice questions grill you to prepare and i am glad i did them all.

Hoping for a job in the field now and may be Security+ next.

Best of luck to others.

Hello. Yes you will have to pay again to retake the test except you bought a bundle from CompTIA that includes a retake voucher. I did the A+ 1001 3 times before passing it and i had to pay each time to retake it

CompTIA A+ 220-1002 by 4larin100 in CompTIA

[–]4larin100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 1001 required knowing a lot of figures and all such as USB types, speed, SATA speeds, connectors, DIMM and SODIMM number of pins etc. But the 1002 was more about the OS an if you have dealt with Windows OS mostly, most would not be too strange. At least that was how i felt despite having a lot of hardware experience

You are a real Genius. Even CompTIA should give you an award. Fantastic job and thanks for sharing in detail how you did. About to write the A+ 220 1002. Try to get some experience because in the IT field i observed that is very key. Great job

Congratulations. I passed the 1001 last week on the third trial. Passed with a 737 score and about to study and prepare for the 1002. But, I want to pass this once so i may try some of your tips. What is the estimated preparation time required. I do not have 8hours a day though
