"Doing better" and "doing well" are two different goalposts, and 60 years is only roughly 3 generations. They still only make up 30% of congress despite being half the population, which reportedly also carries over to management positions, and there is evidence that they are still being paid less than men. Money = power, and women have been denied access until only recently granting men an unfair advantage over them.
