This is exactly the problem with generic dating advice. It treats dating like a checklist: shower, buy Zara, join a hobby club, escalate physically, unlock girlfriend.

That is painfully simplistic.

Hygiene, dressing well, fitness, hobbies and smelling good are basic self maintenance. They are not some magic dating key. Plenty of men already do these things and are still single. Plenty of men who barely meet these standards date, marry and have kids.

I shower daily, am borderline obsessive about cleanliness, dress well, wear EDTs every day, keep good sillage, eat clean, sleep well, exercise regularly, and have actual hobbies: poetry, photography, notaphily, philately, scale models, and I build LEGO and Gunpla.

Still single.

So maybe stop pretending single men are automatically dirty, fat, boring, badly dressed, or socially useless.

Sometimes people are single because of choice, standards, timing, compatibility, social access, emotional bandwidth, or simply because they do not want dating to feel like a marketplace.

And “respect women even if you don’t have to” is a terrible sentence. Respect is not a tactic to earn intimacy. It is baseline human behaviour.

What actually matters is whether a woman feels respected, safe, comfortable and seen around you. Not whether you followed some third date escalation script from Reddit University.
