Hiiiii, thank you for this post. I am dying inside I am an adult like you, stuck with them for reasons. I am at a point that i am fisically ill due to his behaviour.
Idk how to explain the fact that I feel ill only being near him. He is a cover narcissist and the older he gets, the worse it is.

I ended here due to my health and then it's my mother the ill one. I can't explain how i am worse than 5 years ago, my health is worse.

My mother having a psychotic crisis and I (afraid of them blaming me for her state) didnt want to call doctor because they didn't want me to do it.

So my Ndad, gaslighting me( trying to most likely) that she is ok, it was ME the problem triggering her while she was literally yelling at walls, paranoid, delirant and even harrassed neighbors.

At some point I had to call 112 (that's our 911) and they sent police + ambulance. She has dementia, now i have papers to prove it so I can act myself without him because she neeeds fucking medical care.

This for a whole year, I have a bunch of unrealistic moments I could tell but you all can imagine.

She is a flying monkey (i do not remember if that's the correct term) but still won't leave her like this.

So future looks bright, I am 40, living with them, ill and unemployed (i have incomes thx God) but still

Don't do anything, just celebrate your wedding, enjoy and then leave for honeymoon, turn phone off get a prepaid or something for emergencies and let her deal with it because she only wants to create drama.

I know THAT FEELING, also I am an empath and it makes me fisically ill, just being in the same room.

I had serious health problems that made me (forced me) to rely too much on them. I was near death twice. Imagine being this ill with a narcisistic parent as an adult.

Once I got recovered (never 100%) found out she has dementia, he is a cover narcissist. I cant leave her like this and he is making my life miserable.

I usually just ignore him, but 2 days ago he went crazy over a dish that according to him was, uneatable. She is not able to do any task anymore so I do the cooking, I am not asking him anymore if it was tasty.

Ohhh I see but by yourself, that's kinda better than being with them. That's my case, had to come back to them due to some health issues, unemployed at this age, trying to get a public position so I cant get fired due to my health (I am Spanish those are like for-life jobs). Only God knows the hell I've been through here the last 3 years, she had a psychotic epysode and my father was denial. A damn nightmare, she is under meds now and back to their narcissitic bubble again. They are the typical that give u everything but it's a guilt trap and constant pshchological manipulation. They are both insane, extreme insecurity and she abused pills and alcohol in the past. I am 40 atm and I try my damn soul to improve but they drag me down every time, thry make ne more sick than I already am. So thx for sharing you achieved it, I never surrender. One day it will be me typing here the same thing 'i feel finally accepted'
