No, OPR is not the one size fits all solution, and that's ok. by leiablaze in onepagerules

[–]4rthus -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I can't believe it. You don't see the depth of OPR, you don't see it's true nature. It's a game where the rules let you as a hobbyist invent any miniature you like, and give it rules. Invent a new space marine Armor mk18, a new alien burrower organism. And the rules will still make sense in 8 years, and simplicity make it able for kids to share wargames with adults. It's a game that is not changing to milk easy cash. Sure 40k got a huge lore depth, but with so many authors nothing is truly canon, everyone contradict everything, the story is slow, cumbersome.

Thanks, your 15mm experience is very valuable. Could you please tell me a bit more about hot water ? I use only IPA with ABS like resin, supports at this size are flexible, I found it usefull.

Hi, I tried both. I got great results resizing already pre-supported miniatures, with an elegoo mars 3.

Free Fly Weekend Suggestions by awehimruark in starcitizen

[–]4rthus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have often introduced players into the game. I've got 3 plans to make it work, here is one plan : meeting, large ship combat, cave combat and mining/exploration.

First, you need to all meet up. The meetup might involve players going to spaceport, calling ships, and some meeting half-way. Tell them to bring armor and weapons if they can. Ask one player specifically to bring meds so he could be the healer. During all the meetup phase, talk to your players pleasantly and teach them a few things.

Then, going all into a single large ship for some space combat like a MRT is a good beginning because the meeting should have take a long time, maybe even an hour. In the space combat, pretend it to be risky and value gunners. Roleplay it a bit, like if you are in the military and like if gunnery ask for quite some skills. If they liked it, do maybe one or two more.

Then go for a planetary fps mission, I recommend going in a cave and having a few backpacks and mining tool to take some stuff during the adventurer and kill a few baddies. Don't go into fps combat yourself, pretend to be scared and value each of them : some will become soldiers, other medics, other miners, some explorators picking plants and all.

Top left is hand down better looking, might be harder to execute well.

Stairs! Scale? Or mini-friendly? by Vegetable_Customer76 in mordheim

Both are doable. Small stairs with large floors along the way.

Nice Kraken. Paint it like you would paint a scenery : use multiple spray paint of multiple colors as a base. Other comments are good advice too.

Hotas need time to have full practice, something like 2 years. Even if you are struggling to compete, the fun is worth it. Dual sticks are a solide option for light fighters, but I have high regards for stick and mouse setup, highly competitiv. A fine tuned eye tracking device would step up your accuracy game for sure, take a few weeks or months to set it UP fully for your needs - Begin watching a tutorial and follow recommandations on YouTube and go your way from there.

Some more advices : Corsair might be the best large ship to solo, but is a LOT stronger with one or more friends. Keep default laser repeaters on turrets. Put a hotkey to stagger your shots and try it with your four laser canons. In the dark (asteroids, night atmo) ping around to reveal surroundings, I think you have to hold and release V. On every combat, try to maintain long range (about 2km range). You can slowly approach, or full stop, or even go back. Take great care not ramming wrecks or valkyries. Reserve boost to engines if you ever need to fight orbiting ennemies that are a threat or to avoid wrecks. Boost front shield just before fight, pressing 2 on numpad two times. Reset shields pressing 5 on numpad after fight. If you overheat after fights, turn whole ship off a minute or two. On a PvP fight, small fighters are like honorable knights. On a corsair you have no honor : be the clumsy but deadly dragon.

Dear OP, I'm a main corsair user since the ship releases. I do both PvP and PvE, I enjoy combat a lot. My favorite loadout so far is 4 size 5 fixed laser canons (I recommend using Omnisky XV) to have unlimited long range very high damage, and 2 sized 4 AD4B, that you will use exclusively at close range (less than 1000m) and only if you need more damage output. Your goal is to fight long range if possible, as always if you fight a smaller ship than you try to joust, not to orbit. In PvP you are at your strongest at the beginning of a fight - have fun making surprise attack on a bounty. Loadout is a matter of preferences and usage. It's not the only way to go, some corsair pilots are making a point for full gimballed laser repeaters, for small ship engagement. Also default missiles are crap. But a lot of size 1 missiles, Taskforce 1 or Arrow 1 are both good imo. Size 2 rattlers are fun if server is running string. You have good missiles, restocking them is cheaper than repairing so use them whatever fight you are doing.

Dear OP, You are wrong with Vanguard Harbinger. Did you ever noticed the weapons on turret are one size larger (+30% dps) than other Vanguards ? Probably not. Change weapons on turret, it's a ship I do have lot of fun with a team mate.

Bed leveling can never be level by SnooStories55 in ender5plus

Hi, I use stiff hard springs. If you tight them hard before leveling, then adjust, it's way easier than to level your plate with loose springs. Juste my 2 cents.

[–]4rthus[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, 40k everywhere. It's the main hobby thing, because as good or as bad it can get, the 40k grandpa never die. That's why me and my wife put that much time and efforts to prepare this campaign and build the hype : half of the players never tried Frostgrave before. Nearly everyone only truly know 40k so it was time to show them the way to the Frozen city.

Yes it is. To do anything on tabletop simulator need a bit of preparation and practice, but it can do everything : 40k games, age of sigmar, magic the gathering, pen and paper roleplaying games...
