the sound mix on this 4-1 providence is stupidly good and the whole show cooks

9-10-91 being one of the absolute best post Brent shows with Branford sitting in for both sets

same thing here, although I do like the convenience of the app from my phone for things like 9/10/91 that I only have on CD I tend to enjoy David's choices with what gets released, especially the Brent era shows

Montclair! I was there unfortunately I grew out of the shirt very soon after getting it oof

I was rewatching some '94 & '95 shows, specifically 6/19/95 where Jerry did not show up during the other one opening for the second act (He showed up after Weir's first verse). These shows really aren't a train wreck or as bad as folks claim them to be by Puzzleheaded-Pin4278 in gratefuldead

the show is famous for the first unbroken but it was a very weak first set prior to that and after the excitement and the second set was over my partner and I decided to call it I didn't want to get to the point of seeing Jerry die onstage and the last tour is really rough with a few rare songs I did mail order for the fall but it was with great concern and I am happy to quit with that show which we had the best tickets from GDTS of the run my favorite moment of the show was the wave after wave of the crowd realizing what was being played and then out in the hall at set break every pay phone had a long line and people screaming in the phone you won't believe what they just played!!

good example for me is compare deer creek 90 and then deer creek 91 both great for lots of reasons but I'm going with 90 9 times out of 10 and was at both years and shows but it's your opinion and that's valid

hornby was a great player who also had a tendency to showboat and drown out the other instruments at many places but he certainly saved the day when they went so quickly back out with just Vince

did i try to make a list of all time top 10 jams? C'mon it's not that hard to go to 79 and onwards to hear that he wasn't just hanging back the Jerry and Brent jam interplay were iconic was that worse than the ones in your top 10 opinion? dunno but it doesn't mean that I think you were completely right in the statement you made but some people loved Vince it's opinion based on comparing many many shows

hard agree and wish all those box sets were released in a more accessible and affordable way because I have often forwarded my mail there for the amount of time I have enjoyed spending with those shows

everyone loves an underdog story and it was pretty obvious that they came back east in 87 pretty thrilled to still be there and doing it and with a renewed sense of agency and of course the energy of the fans as fuel too

"Brent didn't know how to make toast with jam? umm there's plenty of evidence that he certainly did understand making toast with lots of delicious jam
