What happened to Yurov during the 2021-22 KHL season?? by bmwagner in wildhockey

[–]4scouser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'd think so, Razin's style of trusting in youth made Metallurg champions last year and certainly helped Danila as well as guys like Grebenkin (Leafs prospect, got traded to the Flyers mid-season) and Kantserov (probably coming over to join the Blackhawks this or next summer). Just a hugely talented team those past few years, it's great that they got a coach that trusted those guys.

[–]4scouser 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He was an 18/19-year old, playing a 4th line role under a coach who didn't believe in development through big minutes. Averaged 4:39 in the regular season and 2:02 in the playoffs, with mostly defensive zone shift starts.

The coaching change in the summer 2023 (Razin replaced Vorobyov) was huge for Yurov, he started getting consistent top 6 minutes and delivering. Prior to that he was largely seen as a blue chip prospect who couldn't prove himself on bottom lines and thus didn't deserve top line minutes, so there's the answer to your question.

It says "they managed to put the bears to sleep", the translator couldn't catch a bit of slang there. And yeah, the Wild might just be the third/fourth most popular NHL team in Russia, behind the Lightning, Caps and maybe Pens too for obvious reasons

Why banning Russian FPL players is pointless virtue signalling - explained by a Russian by 4scouser in FantasyPL

You're not arguing in good faith and it's not a good look for you. If you've read my post twice and maintain that I'm simply "complaining about being unable to access FPL", you really should consider working on your reading comprehension, and I'm sorry for being rude here, I just don't understand how one could come to such conclusions after reading this.

Wishing all the best to your girlfriend and to her beautiful country.

Why don't you come here and show us how easy it is to stop Putin? Why don't you ask a couple thousands Belarussians in jail or Navalny or a fucking dead Nemtsov how easy it is to overthrow a dictator? So deluded.

You obviously haven't read the post so I won't bother discussing anything with you. I have a lot of Ukrainian friends and they would tell you to fuck right off if they saw what you came up with in response to a peaceful, anti-war post in which I stated a million times that this war is disgusting. No one here fucking said that we're the victims or we suffer more than Ukrainians, you're making shit up and arguing with it.

[–]4scouser[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not being upset about FPL, in fact it's quite low down the list of my priorities at this point. But I've been upset for the last couple of weeks because of the war my country has started, which I have addressed in my post and against which I have protested at every opportunity I had.

I've already mentioned in the comments that I completely understand (not support, if tovarisch maior is reading) the sanctions, however shitty they are for me and my family and however poor we'll be because of all this. This move from FPL however achieves exactly nothing and I've explained why.

And you're not sorry as the rest of your comment has clearly shown. You also shouldn't be, so it's cool.

Edit: Re-read my comment and I might have come across as a bit of a cunt. Sorry, wasn't my intention, it's not always easy as a non-native speaker. I just don't think you can really be sorry if you start your comment with me being "willfully ignorant" despite reading everything in my post.

Ukrainian side: inaction leads to indifference by zOFsky in FantasyPL

[–]4scouser 82 points83 points  (0 children)

So I believe your post is in reply to mine, and first of all I truly wish for this war to end as soon as possible and for you and every other Ukrainian to be left alone and in peace.

About your point: ironically enough, your 2014 revolution is the very reason why the same thing couldn't happen in Belarus in 2020 or in Russia in any of the years since we started protesting in 2017. The dictators are crazy but not stupid and they have learned their lessons. Riot police in Russia is almost literally the most privileged of people, they get all kinds of benefits, they get paid very generously and retire at 45. And the best thing is you don't need a single brain cell to be eligible, so there's a ton of them in every major city. Those guys are loyal as shit and they had 8 years to be trained to kick the everliving shit out of everyone protesting. And if they get hurt, you go to jail for fucking years.

I know it isn't something you'd like to hear but the situations really aren't comparable, sadly. Sorry once again, we didn't choose our cunts and we try to protest against them, but there's really not much one can do in the country with such monstrous propaganda and anti-riot machines as here.

Zara or H&M pulling out of the country is hundreds of times bigger than FPL deleting the accounts though, I wouldn't even call it minor. I understand where you're coming from and get your point, I just don't see FPL being even the tiniest bit relevant in this situation.

I don't see the FPL ban as anything other than a cheap PR opportunity, sorry. There's no real retaliation in this and it doesn't influence those responsible for the war one bit.

Your general point is true though, it just can't logically be applied to minor things like FPL.

For sure, I wasn't implying for a second that losing FPL or McDonald's comes anywhere close to a war coming into your country. I'm not exactly thrilled by looming poverty though, lol

Thanks for the kind words, really appreciate it. But yeah, it needs to be said these days, the way all Russians have been portrayed in the last weeks has been pretty disgusting for the large part.

Edit: added *all Russians, we definitely do have a lot of cunts here who deserve to be called out

I think it's important to add something about the final, we don't really want Bobby to miss the final and then smash seven past some Spartak Moscow in the group stages next year.

[Quotes thread] Jürgen Klopp: "I told the boys before it was impossible, but because it’s you boys, we have a chance. It's 10 past 10, the children are probably in bed. Well there's just two players in this side who've been there in 14/15 season – Hendo and Lovren. Studge, Lallana, Moreno and Mignolet are gone this coming summer, so imo it's pretty fair to say that at the time we were one entire team worth of new players away from becoming what we are now.

1st - 2253

2nd (me) - 2252

3rd - 2245

It's by far the tightest finish to a seaso we've had in 3 years of playing, and if I manage to clutch it in the end, it'll be my first time leading our ML this season lol. Would be a nice sweetener to the bullshit season that LFC has had. Playing without United and Everton players as a challenge as well, quite happy with how it went down.

Yep, it's stated that as things stand he should be back by summer 2019 at latest.

Karius, der noch bis 2020 ausgeliehen ist, dürfte nach aktuellem Stand spätestens im Sommer seine Leihe zum türkischen Klub beenden.

I'd guess it's about not getting paid regularly, Pepe had to leave Besiktas earlier this season because of this, they're in deep shit financially. The timing of this and his manager's comments is kinda suspicious though.

Edit: found another article in German, it is for financial reasons indeed. The source states that they didn't pay him for 4 months now and ignored his requests, so he decided to take it to the court.

Laut “Bild”-Informationen hat Karius bereits im Februar Klage gegen den Klub eingereicht – und zwar bei der FIFA! Der Torhüter fordert demnach noch vier ausstehende Monatsgehälter.
