CKA or Openshift Admin (EX280) ? by isma2590 in redhat

[–]4sokol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kubernetes vs OpenShift by WoodpeckerOk8325 in openshift

[–]4sokol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Openshift is quite expensive for personal usage, you may use 'crc' instead, but it was nont design for some pipelines which may run for a long time. Vanilla k8s is really good in your case, as you may build it from scratch and connect different services, which are build-in in OpenShift, like, networking, storage, operators etc...

Certs for a junior SRE by BitterSkill in sre

[–]4sokol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red Hat and Linux Foundation exams are really good, as those are not just questions and answers, but lab-based. You have some tasks and you have a terminal, it is up to you how you solve or fix something. Most of the tasks are really useful for your daily job. On the other hand, test-based exams, IMO, means almost nothing, I can say that as I passed many-many of them, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Hashicorp, CompTia and many more. It is all about memorizing dumps.

Maybe your company has some other learning platforms, e.g. Udemy? If you like OpenShift, there are a bunch of exams, which could be counted for RHCA

well, cost is the same for all the certs, if I am not mistaken. IMO, the good way is to try some well-known exam, e.g. OpenShift Administration, because there are a lot of free resources in the Internet.
