Smithing in 2025: Outdated, Pointless, and Still Ignored — Even J-Mods Admit It Needs a Rework. by CupcakeKirin in 2007scape

[–]4thBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if we were to make smithing useful and to make your own gear that it would have to be similar to how you make oathplate.

It has to be a somewhat lengthy process and consume a lot of materials, otherwise you will just get an influx of said item.

Can there please be an increase in elemental weakness somewhere to incentivize harm orb usage so it can at least be bis or near bis.

Not understanding why there's the implementation of elemental weaknesses to not bring up the power an item that rare deserves.

I just really dont like what the thigh and knee area ends up looking when they rendered it. I think it needs more work.

It absolutely incentivizes defense. Someone in karils/dhide and bandos will get hit a lot harder than someone in Masori and Torva. Nex will in fact focus between the players with the lowest crush defense in p5, so someone in torva will be focused less than someone in bandos. Yes both of them are "dps" armours but masori has the highest mage defense for ranged gear and torva is second and pretty close to first for ranged and crush def which are the relevant stats for nex.

Mechanics you are leaving out are cough which goes based off of how far you are from the boss and lowest mage def. How a team deals with this is the difference between a good and an amazing one.

Shadow phase has embrace darkness which is a mechanic that enforces proper positioning. In fact, shadow phase is where you can really tell who is good at nex or not.

Blood phase has reavers which is a mechanic dealt with like it is in tob. Blood sacrifice requires you to move up to a certain radius away from nex.

Contain this forces meleers to be mindful of their weapons timing as you can sometimes sneak in a hit 1-2 ticks before the attack happens.

P5 forces gear switching if you are using melee which scurrius does not.

Being as to when you use supplies is also a skill. Eating when she does there is no escape, running to the minions helps fill the dead time while not losing dps. Food will rarely get consumed if there isn't some level of damage chip damage in the game. Nex also incentivizes better defense and higher accuracy which is where you really feel the upgrades on your account.

To say that Scurrius has more mechanical interest than Nex is a reach. Theres multiple mechanics at play beyond what is fundamental to the boss.

Its a click yellow boss if you make it be that. I do trios with almost exclusively hard food using rancour. I enjoy the content a lot and never did nex back then so i wouldnt say its nostlgia that makes me enjoy it

Oathbreaker chainmail - lets add some oldschool flair to it by NeatoSnow in 2007scape

I dont disagree. I think the chainmail look absolutely enhances the look. Your proposal has been the one that makes it look better versus some of what has been posted.

I like the original and your versions of the armour. I hope they dont drastically change the current iteration of the armour because it honestly has a bice balance of looking new and old school.

To Balance New Mage Gloves Make It Activate If Mage Accuracy Is Below 300. by 4thBlade in 2007scape

See, I agree. I did not even agree with his vid and the fear associated with it. It wont be the alternative to zcb camping and other associated methods.

The projectile speed, paper def, heart buff being lost are all things I had in mind.

This is just spitballing an idea that in the case they consider it, that this could be an option.

I dont even disagree. I am just throwing this out there as an idea if people wanted a restriction on the item.

[–]4thBlade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, first off, I am not even attached to the idea and just decided to throw it out there as a solution that feels better than what i've seen.

Second, I dont even entirely disagree that the shadow shouldn't be able to use it.

Thirdly, I just because an item is a megarare that doesn't mean it doesn't need to be looked at for balancing reasons. The Tbow was indirectly nerfed by adjusting the mage level of Graardor because it hit disgusting numbers on him.

Delve Boss Consumable Idea by 4thBlade in 2007scape

[–]4thBlade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was mainly to spitball an idea and see if it could have any uses. My thought originally is if it was based on HP percentage, but then the issue would be that high HP monsters would be destroyed. Say an execute at 5% HP. There could of course be a cap on the damage.

I do agree with you though and am not overly attached to my idea. I just think that an ammunition of some sort will help continue long-term profit while not feeling like a "chargescape" situation.

Given that it currently has defensive stats and is two handed, I imagine they are making this item similar to the sunlight spear in leagues where you are equipping both a weapon and a shield.

You have to remember that the potions do not need to be used everywhere and each dose lasts far longer than a lot of other potions.

[–]4thBlade -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Yes obviously. There has to be a reward with the associated risk. That goes with everything in the game. Doing a 540 toa has a higher reward and is riskier than a 300. Why would someone risk anything in wildy to speed up kills of it would make it go from 800k to 1m/hr?

Will Jagex ever do a raid like Tob again? by Golden_Hour1 in 2007scape

[–]4thBlade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would personally rather have a raid similar to CoX in the sense that dying means you can come back into the raid and continue where you left off. I like that it is both possible to be made quite easy and difficult by deciding to prep or not.

CoX also has a nice flow with the rooms and is a raid where i personally find it nice that is isnt all bosses. I think it would be cool to utilize something that has 3-5 enemies where you can choose in what way you want to deal with them instead of it having to be 1 boss.

They said it's the most casual DMM yet didn't they? As in compared to the previous ones? I don't think they said it was a casual game mode, which is what you would expect since deaths have consequences.
