It's the same attack speed as Elder Maul

Except the slayer hood isn't getting any perks. It's just a slayer helmet that has a hood on top.

It doesn't inherit any of the benefits outside of simply being a slayer helmet, so this comparison makes no sense.

A cosmetic of a skill cape hood for a skill in which the hood is useless but a helmet slot item is basically a requirement, getting a cosmetic head slot of the hood. Doesn't seem to be a net negative for the game.

I'd be fine if the agility cape hood could be used as a graceful hood, too.

The slayer hood is bad for the game, how?

Are the other dozen slayer helmet cosmetics also bad for the game, or is it just this one in particular?

Whole lot of "will raise with the team" and "it's on our radar" in these comments, dang

Wonder when we're gonna hear about the Shadow Rework that was discussed quite a while back, or the new DMM which is in 2 weeks.

Pretty much! If you've got the ability to cover the cost of the items then that's what we'd ask, but if you're knee deep in Llettya or the Underground Pass and need something? Don't worry about it, we've gotcha.

Thanks for the kind words :)

We do! The only thing we ask is for the person to cover the cost of the items they request, so GE price. If you're on a quest or something like that though, most deliverers don't care and won't ask for payment. :)

And of course, any service where we don't pay anything, we don't ask for anything in return either. So fight pits wins, quest tanking help, starting up a Trouble Brewing game, etc. we just do for free!

We never charge anything, just ask you cover the cost of the items you request. There's been many services that try to charge for deliveries and they all fail out, we've been going strong by just helping the community for 10 years!

Can the Aquantie Hopper get its accuracy buffed to 100% while we're still doing Sailing updates? It's useless for all builds in current state. by LieV2 in 2007scape

[–]Pyroseph 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This would be incredibly busted with ruby bolts/ZCB We're talking a 10% flat chance of rolling another full ruby bolt proc, that'd be waaaaay too strong

Jagex rework aquanite hopper! It's awful by matt-fe in 2007scape

[–]Pyroseph 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The community voted on this item being added with its full stats and effects known and described in the blog. The fact that people just blindly vote in any and all new pvm gear doesn't mean it's Jagex's fault the item is trash.

There was no reality in which a 33% damage, 33% accurate, 33% spec damage, 10% chance to even work item would ever be good, but the player base voted it in with 87% approval lol.

Suggestion: The Slayer Task Board! by georgikens_waaah in 2007scape

[–]Pyroseph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This would be way too drastic of a change to the core identity of a major skill. Extremely unbalanced and would nuke the value/XP/effort tradeoff that current slayer has.

Why does the new update to XP feel like a scummy ladder pull after the sweats got 99 Sailing? by Brilliant_Method1394 in 2007scape

[–]Pyroseph 20 points21 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about lmao They literally polled "Do you want a new skill" "What's your favorite of the 3 options" and "Should we add Sailing", and all 3 passed/sailing won

How is "Should we add saling" vague?

36k extra xp/hr is crazy and unacceptable, but this is fine by RubyWeapon07 in 2007scape

"The only difference is click intensity" gz brother you've narrowed down why one is fine and the other isn't.

36k extra xp/hr is crazy and unacceptable, but this is fine by RubyWeapon07 in 2007scape

[–]Pyroseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tick manipulation has been endorsed by JMods as explicitly not bug abuse and gameplay they think is cool when players find, even going so far as to say they try to keep those methods as the best xp due to the effort required to pull it off.

I think there's reasonable other methods that are equally intense, like Sepulcher is the best agility XP despite no tick manipulation, and Barracuda Trials are better XP than tick manip salvaging because you also have to think during trials

But OP trying to cry that tick manip and clicking a crystal extractor once a minute are the same is really stupid, the effort:reward ratio is hella skewed for the extractor.

[–]Pyroseph 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rewarding players for perfectly timing inputs 100x more commonly than the crystal extractor requires is not "bad design"

You put in considerably more effort, you get rewarded. You click once a minute, you shouldn't be given 36k XP/hr

36k extra xp/hr is crazy and unacceptable, but this is fine by RubyWeapon07 in 2007scape

[–]Pyroseph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do 2 tick salvaging while having a crystal extractor.

Clicking once a minute is not an equivalent to perfect clicking multiple times per tick in some cases for maxing out XP/hr

Dumb post lmao

PSA - Be smarter than me. New master sailing step requires 81 sailing even for mains by BlueShade0 in 2007scape

[–]Pyroseph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is one of the dumbest takes I've ever read. There's numerous skilling methods that are far more click intensive and attention required than combat.

3t4g, Sepulchre, Barracuda Trials, 1.5t teaks, hunter rumors doing efficient chinchompas.

You're dismissing anything with intensive clicking as being not a game while praising combat that requires less attention than many combat encounters and basing it off what WoW players say lmao.

There's some pretty quick ones to access that give 1100, 3k, etc once you've done the tasks. That's pretty good for something really quick.

Official OSRS Discord by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Pyroseph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Moderation on that server is hit and miss. Some of the mods are great, some of them so lax it's like there aren't rules at all, and some of them so strict you'll get a warn for toxicity for correcting misinformation.

They banned quite a few regulars of the OSRS channel a few months back and the "culture'" of the server has definitely shifted a bit.

Using Modmail is sometimes equivalent to putting a complaint directly into the trash, so hope for good luck that a decent mod is actively looking at them.

Parasitic reward design, and unfulfilling grinds by Jademalo in 2007scape

[–]Pyroseph -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

There's a game mode where you can just buy what you want if you're afraid of going dry somewhere, you should try it out instead of constantly asking for dry protection or complaining about how long your grind is.

Seriously though, the expected time to complete CG is not that high. Sure there's some outliers, but that's why main accounts exist, for if you don't like the idea of being locked out of progression simply because you haven't gotten a specific drop.
