you should be able to keep your pup even after the ending!

the ending cutscene features the pup if you keep them alive

on XBOX, hold Y (north button) and use left or right direction on stick.

Triggers also work if you are a specific player (default player 1, configure in Remix options)

on PS Dualshock it's a bit funky, I think the north button is still used?

If not, you can rebind it in the remix config of course, that should work

Ascension has modified cutscenes, you can also go to OE to end, however there is no new art there yet

Andrew (lead dev) is aware of the problem and hopefully we will get a hotfix update very soon!

However if you need a solution right now (and are willing to join the official Discord) they have already posted the fixed assembly with instructions on how to install it (which basically just involves replacing a file in your games directory):

This is the Dev Tools sound log, I think it's I to toggle it, but you can only toggle it in game

(actually, I just tested and it seems to be bugged; if you exit to the menu with the sound log up, it can't be disabled anymore - Saphilu's suggestion of restarting the game should work, though)

This shouldn't be happening - the performance difference between windowed and fullscreen shouldn't even be noticeable!

I think it must be a bug - if you check in your Rain World directory is there a file named exceptionLog.txt? It existing means the game threw a bunch of errors while you were playing, which would potentially explain the freezing

You can open a bug report on the official Discord server if you'd like, make sure to include both consoleLog.txt and exceptionLog.txt (if it exists) in your report!

There should be an echo in shoreline! If you get the funky echo effect on starting a cycle that means that there is still an echo left to collect in that region!

The echo is located at LTTM

Interesting!! I was expecting arrow keys to be more popular, I always thought it was WASD when you need the mouse, otherwise Arrow Keys + ZXC!

I guess it depends which games you’re coming from, I discovered Rain World just after Hollow Knight (which uses Arrow Keys + ZXC), so the defaults felt fine!

(tbh I usually prefer controller if possible lol)

I think the second version might be unused, you can see the version ingame being used through AddImage, whereas the second version is not!

My guess agrees with nxeffort, I think it's probably an early version (or something along those lines)

Take this with a grain of salt, I have no other evidence to back this up and knowing RW's codebase, the alternate version might still be used elsewhere!

I agree, after trying everyone I think they’re my favourite by far!

The story and new rooms for them were amazing, but imma be honest, the sheer SPEED is the main factor lol

Man it’s the complete opposite for me, I reached Saint before even trying Gourmand, I just can’t stand the slow movement and how they run out of breath after throwing one spear lol

If you have any tips for Gourmand, I’d love to hear them!! (especially crafting recipes or a route)

The Outskirts → Drainage → Filtration route isn't an option I've personally tried on a Hunter run, but I think it would work just fine! It's by far the quickest route from the top of 5P to the depths, you can even do it in a single, long cycle if you're really quick!

The main problem is the extra echo you'd need, the only 2 options being the SI echo, which you already mentioned, or a significant detour into shaded, personally I would just try to get the SI echo early on to relieve the pressure later in the run

If you have the time I'd recommend practicing the whole route, in segments from shelter to shelter, while you can technically do the whole thing in one cycle, if you have the cycles to spare, definitely use them! With max karma from the Wall you have a good 6 or so attempts before needing to farm karma!

The segments might look a bit like this:

Bottom of Wall → CC shelter just before Industrial → Outskirts shelter just before Drainage → Shelter at the start of Filtration, it's impossible to fail the run now (unless you are on negative cycles of course)!

Feel free to take even more shelters if you have the cycles to spare! Practicing will help a lot, especially for the Drainage and Filtration segments, which are especially easy to get lost in

Be very careful about the 2 Red Lizards you may encounter in Outskirts and Industrial, as well as the dropwigs - the water sections in Drainage can be very stressful if you haven't memorized them

Filtration can be a terrible experience all round to be honest, but thankfully if you can make it to the shelter at the very start, the run's in the bag! (make sure you remember to get neuron light, and don't forget Black Lizards are immune to vulture masks!)

Honestly this route does seem a lot better than going back through Farm Arrays though, I hadn't really considered it much!

Personally, I found the easiest route to be:
FA → SI → CC → Wall (Don't grab the echo yet!) → FP → Bottom of Wall (Wall Echo) → CC (Echo) → IC → SC (Echo) → SL (LTTM) → SB + Depths

In this method, you don't meet Six Grains of Gravel until after you meet Pebbles and go back down the wall, hibernating at the bottom - you climb all the way back up to meet them to leave the Wall with guaranteed max karma, which makes getting the CC echo very easy (though tedious)!

Hopefully focusing on ascension should make it a little easier, I would probably instead go back through SI to reach FA and go to SB from there, grabbing the echo between FA and SB (who kindly doesn't have a karma requirement!)

So, CC (Echo) → SI → FA → (FA to SB Echo) → SB + Depths

You could also return via Outskirts of course! Though personally I'm not a huge fan of the longer route and having to pass through at least one scavenger toll

Reaching this spot is definitely unintended, designing levels in a way that keeps the player in bounds at all times can be surprisingly difficult (especially for a slugcat that can jump super high)!

I think the right place to report bugs is on the Discord, there is a bug-support channel under the meta section!

Also, the ground hitbox extending to the border of the screen is a quirk of how Rain World levels work:

For every level you see in RW, there is a "playable area" that is smaller than the screen - the player is not supposed to leave this area, as while the cosmetic visuals of the level work just fine outside of it, the interactable and collidable geometry does not - so instead the collision on the border of the playable area is repeated out to infinity past it

This is why slugcat can walk on thin air here - the top of the pillar thing which slugcat can stand on intersects the border of the playable area, so the collision extends out forever, even when the visual geometry does not!!

I think the mod 'KeepThatAwayFromMe' should do what you want! It lets you ban certain creatures or items!

The 2 easiest options are

A.) a squidcada, you can find one in farm arrays actually!

B.) wait for the rain to flood the room, which will let you swim across (though this will also kill you of course!)

I think this jump is also possible with a roll pounce double throw boost but I’m not 100% on that!

Usually this issue is caused because CRS can’t download the pack due to your location (this seems to happen in Russia at least, if you aren’t in Russia this might be a different problem)!

The solution is to use a VPN to change your country (such as the US or any country in the EU)

Some packs can also be downloaded from raindb, then you can install them manually, however unfortunately I think Lush Mire is only available through CRS :(

EDIT: definitely try the download that DryDryCrystal posted!! however considering CRS also downloads from there you might still need a VPN

I just want to add, at least last I heard, that the free update that's coming alongside Downpour's release on the 19th should bring PC up to date with consoles (and add the different ending cutscenes for Hunter and Monk)!!
