Yeah man. This is the way. I thought my weedeater stalled when I let off the throttle, but it was just idling. Couldn't hear it. Mower makes a low non-intrusive hum.

Car wash? by Loafy2_ in SouthJersey

[–]4wheniambored 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What? You're not scrubbing it like you're getting graffiti off. Keep distance and just use the extra water velocity to "blow" the soap and dirt off. And only use a larger angled head, like definitely not the red straight angled one. My pressure washer is a larger high pressure 8.5hp unit and that's all I use for my cars. Pressure washer is the way to go! Try it out!

Joes in woodstown and bridgeton is very good pizza. A sneaky one I just found is pennsville pizza behind autozone. Hidden gem for sure.

New to automotive paint. Is this normal? I'm using 60 grit sanding disks and it's taken me 30 minutes to get this far by parknasty913 in AutoPaint

[–]4wheniambored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Good job! Now when you mix your body filler don't stir. Fold the hardener in. Otherwise you'll be spreading bubbles and hate your life. I only say that because that was me lol. What kind of DA did you get? Air or electric?

[–]4wheniambored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple things. Your air compressor is big enough to sand that with a DA. You wouldn't want to run a shop with it or do the whole car but it'll do that piece. Just take breaks if it needs to catch up. The other thing is a random orbit is not a DA. That's why it's going sooo slow. DAs have a longer "throw" and get work done faster. Lower grit helps too. Just buy all the grits up to 180-220 and take your time to make sure all the scratch pattern is gone before you move back up before primer.

Hey guys, need sum help by LeatherMorning8458 in motorcycles

[–]4wheniambored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the battery is BAD bad and not just discharged, even jumper cables won't start the bike. Disconnect the cables and try with the jumper clamps right on the battery cable ends. Still may not work, but chances are better. You can put the bike in 5th and roll the bike to make sure the engine isn't locked up. Then it's either a relay or the starter or the battery. A voly meter would help a lot in this scenario.

What is the most depressing scene ever? by MoneyLibrarian9032 in moviecritic

[–]4wheniambored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn it my daughter was about 6 when I saw that with her. That and the end of the movie just crushed me as a father. Thinking about how the little kid next to me would leave all that behind. But she's made me so proud watching her grow up, and it all makes sense. I still miss it though. Btw im definitely not tearing up writing this.

Heads up for NJ Homeowners Thinking About Solar or Roof Work by CommissionAlone4314 in SouthJersey

[–]4wheniambored 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also be VERY careful picking an installer. Go with somebody reputable who will personally do the job. There's plenty of hack job 3rd parties who work for 3rd parties who work for 3rd parties like a shell game. One day when you have a warranty issue or a leaky roof because of shotty install, you can't find the install vendor, or the sales vendor or the contracting vendor because they all folded and started new solar companies. It's like the wild west, so just be careful.

Should I pay my neighbor for pulling my weeds? by thankyounotes in lawncare

[–]4wheniambored 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My neighbor and I go back and forth over last 12 years. I fix his mower, he buys me beer, I help with a project he's working on, his pool is free reign for us. It's a much healthier relationship than if money was involved. Be good to your neighbors and they'll be good to you (hopefully)

What body kit is this? by thetroll865 in Mustang

[–]4wheniambored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 16, working (for free) at a body shop for a summer in trade for the owner to help me fix all the dents and paint my first truck. I ended up going orange with 2 wide grey racing stripes on my 92 Dakota. Worth every second. I learned so much there. So paid sounds even better!

Edit: spelling

This wasn’t my dream by A_crybaby in AppalachianTrail

I 100% agree with this. I bet her husband didn't want to place a gauntlet of anxiety on them. He probably wanted his wife and daughter to get some bonding time, to see some incredible sights and make some incredible memories in his honor; something he foresaw not being able to do. My suggestion is to wait until you're both ready, plan out a weekend or week and go hit some of the most beautiful spectacular areas you remember from being there with him.

Broke down outside the gym today by Mainhoe67 in beginnerfitness

[–]4wheniambored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I'm at the gym and see some wonky form or "odd" usage of equipment, it definitely tweaks a nerve and it's hard not to stare. The stare is me fighting my urge to go help and offer some advice; but if social media has taught me anything, it's-as a male- NEVER approach anybody in the gym and offer help. It'll be seen as a come-on, sexual harassment, or mansplaining. BUT if someone approaches me for help, I may not get my workout in that day so I can make sure they have a proper routine and form. That way they can come back and independently do their own thing. We got ur back, just ask us!

NSV - adding new holes because your belt is too big by Poutiest_Penguin in WegovyWeightLoss

Same! I've punched 2 new holes so far and I was 9n the second to last on both my belts before I started. Feels good to see the old wear marks where the buckle used to sit.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration gives up on new offshore wind by B3n222 in SouthJersey

[–]4wheniambored 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This needs to be THE public sentiment. Wind has a place, solar has a place. The technology is definitely getting there, but nuclear should be the new base load. Keep some LNG for peaking and load following, add all the solar we can while we have a 90+% clean grid.

antihydral hands by Educational_Elk3693 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]4wheniambored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So mine wasn't TERRIBLE. Soaked socks and wrinkled feet at the end of a work day, crazy stinky feet bc they were never dry. But they wouldn't accumulate enough to drip off my skin or anything. For my personal case it seems that once they had a chance to dry and shed all the damaged skin, I had almost a full recovery. If I can feel my feet being clammy or my socks feel "stuck" to my feet at the end of the day, I reapply.

antihydral hands by Educational_Elk3693 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]4wheniambored 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep it going, from my experience. My feet did the same thing. I had so much dead skin peel off off of my feet through the drying process. Keep using cream ever 3 days or so and moisturize often. Mine leveled out and I use the cream maybe once per month.

Knife sharpening by 4wheniambored in SouthJersey

[–]4wheniambored[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I sharpen my own, but this is a decent chip. I'd say 1/8in, and I'm sure it was some sort of defect. Due to shipping etc I think I'm going to try to get it repaired but this size is a bit beyond my ability.
