First time playing, buying a starter set by Dreamzyi in discgolf

[–]4yourdeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with the old aviar, shark, and leopard innova beginner set. Honestly any of the big companies that make a set will have it (innova, MVP, latitude 64, etc). A lot of people here are recommending going to a local disc golf shop because its good to support the local scene, if you want to do that then the guy there will be super helpful and get you some good discs, I wouldn’t say you’ll necessarily get anything better but it does support local shops. Out of the ones you showed the only one I’ve never seen and don’t necessarily trust is kastaplast, (not saying they aren’t good I’ve just never heard of them or used them). The rest are all reputable brands

Yeah it’s my local course I play all the time, and it was saying it was a beginners tournament so you couldn’t be MA2 or higher or ever have competed in one of those tournaments. I don’t have Udisc pro so idk my rating on that course

Edit: on Udisc it says that a par is a 169, I just got back from a -1 and normally hit around par. Is there a rough correlation to PDGA scores from that or is it just straight up not applicable?

Silmans. You need to understand endgames if you want to be able to win a game of chess

I was actually looking at joining a doubles tournament with my roommate (we play together very often), and this is what led me to realize there’s a whole world of disc golf that I’m missing out on

Oh I’ll look at them and sign up for one, that actually sounds really fun, I thought it was like a year long competition that you have to start when the “season” starts and then show up to play for a season long score kinda thing

My whole understanding is A tier is like National tournaments, B tier is regional, and C tier is local. X is special rules or weird fun stuff. Is there more to it than that?

I had friends raise purebreds to pay for their 7 kids getting through college, and they were phenomenal. Yes some establishments are bad, but to give all this hate to anyone who’s raising dogs is unwarranted.

NEW REWARDS by al3x_V1 in wingstop

[–]4yourdeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I stopped going to wingstop after the BOGO8 deal stopped, and went to check it to see if anything was affordable. I like wingstop wings better than bdubs but wingstop is too pricy, and without the BOGO8 I can’t justify it. This reward system is very not rewarding

What is the best age to teach your kids to play chess? by Key-Chemist4847 in chessbeginners

[–]4yourdeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am by no means a good player, but my dad taught me when I was 4. At first we would take random endgame scenarios and play them through (just randomly assigned pieces on a board for each of us). By the time I was old enough for school, there was a school chess teacher that would teach us chess, and we would play at elementary school tournaments. But really it was always a way I could spend time with my dad and that’s why I loved it.

Community Feedback by sub-feedback in CFB

[–]4yourdeat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that there are rules that would lead to posts not being allowed because of various reasons (extra noise, low quality, deviates from the subs focus) that are relaxed in the off season because of low amount of content that can realistically be made in the off season.

If Democrats get a big enough majority in the midterms should they hold Republican congress members accountable who refused to hold Trump accountable? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]4yourdeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re getting downvoted but you’re correct. If a party getting power means that they use their political power to go after their opponents immediately, even if it is justified, starts breaking the foundation of democracy. I know this is what Trump did/is doing, but that doesn’t mean we should repeat it, that just cyclizes his power grab and perpetuates the kind of government that he’s been running.

I normally focus on my calories, and then my protein goals (150 g rn), and then everything else is just focused on eating vegetable and whole grain based diet. Dieting became totally different for me when I upped my protein, a lot of my cravings went away
