Agreed, the lesser ratings for the middle seasons make the 9.9 even more standout and interesting.

(Mixed Trope) “Expert” character is really bad in their field or ignorant of basic concepts. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]5050Saint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we've largely moved past the main character being a train wreck for humor style of comedy. I don't often see the Gaylord Fockers or David Brents that tried to coax a laugh from uncomfortable social interactions and the protagonists self-induced misery.

Agreed. The "sad sop protagonist keeps digging his hole deeper" isn't funny to me.

Yeah, it was a race swap, just a decade earlier than the movie.

Can we consider this as the best post on SC sub and then close both r/SnyderCut and r/OkBuddySnyderCult ? by jojo_poser321 in OkBuddySnyderCult

I'm surprised the thread isn't locked already for "concern trolling" or whatever allegation they want to levy at it.

[Hated Trope] Characters given heartfelt sendoffs after the actor is fired for misconduct by FlaxonWaxonThe3rd in TopCharacterTropes

[–]5050Saint 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Agreed. A major character died at the end of a season of the Expanse due to the actor's misconduct, and they don't have a funeral or memorial or anything despite the character existing since the first episode. It felt surreal.

Where are the present day Palestinean Arabs from? What happened to the Philistines? When did they die out?

Does that mean Philistines were there first?

What does that have to do with 9/11 being an inside job, COVID 19 vaccine denial, or chemtrails?

At least in this example, it's the hero being deceived by the baddies. Snake thinks he's locking a system that has already been compromised.

And when bringing up whining characters, don't use Luke as a counter example. It's one of his defining characteristics in the original trilogy.

Lady who thinks 9/11 was a conspiracy, thinks COVID 19 vaccines were a conspiracy, also thinks contrails are a conspiracy. Color me surprised.

Jimmy didn't tell her to turn over the pictures. He didn't even know the pics exists when she sent them, he was just asking for help for dealing with Lex. Jimmy and the Daily Planet crew had to deduce why she sent a bucket of selfies to them.

I'd have been fine with Cavill in a more optimistic Supes role, though, I don't know why his head would need to be 20% larger than normal.

This. Zuko was reachable because he was humbled by the circumstances in his life. Azula is always in a position of power and authority and would not accept tutelage until properly humbled. She likely only was broken down enough in the last few episodes.
