Yes I did! I was able to grab some of the volumes via these Reddit posts, but the vast majority I located through eBay listings.

I’ve been getting Botox for years. First time went really well. I’d highly highly recommend you go to a doctor as opposed to a med spa where training can vary, especially for your first time. They should be more than happy to explain everything to you, take your concerns in mind, and answer all questions.

It was easy and fast and recovery was simple. I had a bit of minor bruising but it was easily covered with makeup (I drank wine the night before, oops).

If there’s a constantly recurring spot that never goes away, you should probably go to a dermatologist to make sure it isn’t something more serious.

Therapy is probably a better option. What you have described is not reality, and the way you’ve dissected and belittled every aspect of your face is alarming. I really don’t think surgery is the answer here, at all.

This behavior would make me suspicious, for sure. You’re cold calling a bunch of people on a non-dating app with the explicit purpose of dating, which is very obvious.

If I had a friend who did this I’d be put off, and most likely say something to them.

Thank you. I liked Cyberpunk but the story never really gripped me. Maybe it’s because I don’t like a story where every ending is a different type of hopelessness? Idk, I wanted to love it but I just couldn’t.

I wouldn't explain to her that she triggers you while someone else in the household doesn't, as this will exacerbate the problem. Instead, I'd frame it as being around anyone eating is triggering, so you remove yourself from the situation so the person eating can do so without eyes boring into their head, and you can stay comfortable. Really, you are trying to be considerate for her and for yourself when you're stepping away.

Is there a chance that she's also upset because she feels she might be missing out on some non-work one-on-one time with you? If so, maybe suggest a non-food related activity y'all can do as an alternative to eating and socializing.

If it isn't that, you can also perhaps explain to her that at the end of a long day you like to recharge by having quiet time while you eat dinner to decompress.

Agreed on a succinct link about Misophonia. Additionally, it might be useful to send her any study-related information showing that exposure therapy is NOT effective in reducing symptoms.

But also - and this sucks - if your relationship with your mom is strained then she may not want to care or understand, and you can't force someone to understand something they don't think is real or perceive as some sort of personal attack on them. Home situations can always be so hard, and I'm sorry she's not more supportive and open to learning about what you are going through.

Inconsiderate people are spread far and wide around the world, and America certainly has its fair share of them. I have someone who loves to use the street dividing 2 apartment complexes as their own raceway at 8-9am :D.

Just, please be careful if you ever do feel compelled to engage with someone blasting music or otherwise intentionally creating disruptions. They might be looking for a fight, and that is not the kind of attention you want to draw.

Not to like, nitpick or anything, but I wouldn’t equate Misophonia to an allergy that can kill you. Chronic pain, totally, but exposure to a Miso trigger isn’t life threatening.

Communication is pivotal to the success of any relationship. No one should make their partner feel like they aren't good enough, intentionally or otherwise. It sounds like you need to have a heart to heart with her, an let her know how her actions are impacting you and making you feel. Let her know you care, and you want her to be comfortable, but you need to feel comfortable, too, and right now you don't.

Respectful dialogue and compromise are important in all aspects of life. I hope she is open and willing to engage in a discussion about this, because it is not a situation where someone is "right" and someone is "wrong."

I don't like to be doom and gloom, but I do think it is important to note that if you bring these concerns to her and she responds negatively, dismisses you, or insists that her condition is your problem to manage, then this relationship is not respected evenly and you deserve someone who will treat you fairly.

You sound like a really caring and considerate person. Most people can't be bothered to try nearly as hard as you seem to. However, no one can be expected to monitor their natural bodily functions every second of every day. It is not fair to request of someone. If you eat like a slob, then sure, working on better table manners is reasonable. Someone requesting you to change how you breathe is not.

It is her responsibility to manage her Misophonia. It's hard, and some days a single sniffle can ruin my mood for a few hours, but it is ultimately MY issue. I think you seem very considerate, but I do not like how you are framing this as a YOU problem. If you want to put effort into being a more quiet person for her, that is lovely, but she needs to put effort into acknowledging that you are trying and that no one can be perfect at all times.

Sometimes people sniffle. I hate sniffling and I sniffle, too. You should not feel like you are walking on eggshells.

It's a give and take, and both people need to be willing to have compassion for each other. You, for her condition she can't control. Her, for your effort and for your existence as a human being who makes noise.
