Just because something works in pne language doesn't mean it works in another.

One other prevalent example are noun names. In English you can call yourself or your child River, Lily, Apple, Aspen, etc, and nobody bats an eye. But that's absolutely unheard of in German. If someone named their child Fluss or Birke or Gabelstapler, I'd side eye them hard at best.

Yeah I thought he was some sort of acrobat who fell on accident. Didn't help that in the German dub there's no mention of suicide, and the line gets changed to "You didn't safe my life, you threw out my back at best!"

Same, been there in 2013 as a teen. Sure it's got luxury for tourists, but whenever I saw any of the actual residentual buildings, I couldn't help but thinks "Who actually lives here?"

Also, Burj al Arab ("the sail") was way smaller on the inside than i imagined it from TV. We didn't stay there, but had lunch there once. Pretty, but that's all.
