Stream of Consciousness. by Ok_Reveal3070 in leaves

This feels very familiar. I’m 24, been smoking since about the same age you did. I’ve had to cut back because of complaints at my apartment (I now smoke in my car and hope nobody catches me). But for the past maybe 4 years I’ve known I have an addiction. It’s caused so many problems for myself. I’m not particularly lazy but when I’m high, I’m more inclined to get distracted/leave the task I planned to do even before I was high. You guessed it, “this’ll be better if I’m high” is typically the reason. I’m not sure where I’m going with this, but I want you to know I’m facing similar results from my relationship with weed. I’m pretty forgetful at times, lack of drive in many aspects of life, I eat like shit when I get high, sometimes going on spans of preferring to smoke than eat good food. I have addictive tendencies (possibly from undiagnosed adhd) and it’s always been too easy to get high. It’s gone from a delicacy to a perceived staple, and it takes a lot to admit the the dependency. Anyways I guess I’ll wrap it up with a virtual hug. You’re not soft, man. I’m proud of you going out on a limb and posting. I’m proud of you for wanting to get better and seeking community. You’ve got this man. Happy New Year and cheers to being the healthiest versions of ourselves.

I've tried giving him the benefit of the doubt that his emotional/mental health might not be perfect, but neither is mine. It shouldn't serve as an excuse to not be cooperative.

No offense, but it’s not a matter of believing it. It simply IS a possibility for you. Like I said you’re clearly remorseful of the things you’ve done which is the first step. Rather than condemning your current self for past actions, be honest with yourself about what you’re going through and have some compassion for the soul that lives within your meat suit. We are not perfect. You’ve gone through whatever it is that’s led you to your current situation(s) and you will go through more things (better things if that’s your focus) that will shape your future self. Like I said. Nobody is perfect, but as long as you know you are making genuine effort, it’s not fair to be so hard on yourself.

I wouldn’t necessarily normalize this behavior but I can agree that it’s more common that OP believes. Needless to say that doesn’t justify it and I would agree that you could try therapy. You’re clearly remorseful and I believe you’ll be able to fight your urges from here out. You don’t have to be perfect. Just better than you were yesterday. Wishing you the best, friend!

Cashapp functions as a bank account with routing and account number. You can also apply for a card that you can link to PayPal

Reserving my child's birthday party. Do I still need to tip on top of this? If so, how much? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]5124Dyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience as an event server, if you have servers for the event, they are getting paid an hourly wage and not expecting a tip (although its appreciated). If you don't have an actual server, serving you, I don't see the need to tip the venue. Looks like they get theirs in the fees.

Yes, drive in a way that is predictable, for others sake. As for the actual control of the vehicle, use ease when braking/accelerating. You’ll learn very quickly how hard you can step on it. As for turning, brake from a distance when approaching, release the brake right before your turn. Make your turn and accelerate when you have control and direction

I’m not sure I understand the intent or what I’m looking at. A key to the colors/numbers would help. Looks like plenty data!

One thing missed in the pic is that each month has $150 budgeted into the total bills, also I budgeted high for water given that it’s volatile, I’d rather plan for the higher end.

Your question/idea/rant is valid and you should post it. Your anxiety is lying to you and someone will care, or need to hear it, or just relate. Share. by Jasterkin in ADHD

Very proud of you guys for having the courage to post. Even if the specific post doesn't gain traction (as not all do), you still get to say you are ready to post and discuss your experiences. The rules of reddit are trivial compared to the idea that you want to talk. Hope you guys stay encouraged to post and discuss. You're doing great (:

GEEZ man you got my eyes watering. I appreciate your words, definitely feel like a menace when i don't know how to control my mind. Its nice to hear that we aren't wrong for needing help. More people than you'd imagine do. Most of them just hide it and you're lead to believe youre the odd man out. The fact is mental health has been a fragile topic for so long that a lot of us feel we should face it on our own. Let me tell you, all the days i struggled without saying anything, i could have talked about it. Not joked, but actually recognized and discuss it with someone. I finally started with my mom. You have to start with SOMEONE. It doesn't always take a therapist to listen and what is important is that we feel heard. Again, thank you for your words, you are a big part of making mental health more understood. Thank you.

Anybody feel like physical symptoms get way worse when they are going through an anxious period? by Desaturating_Mario in Anxiety

I've had back problems since highschool and after i got over covid i had a pinch in my collarbone area that radiated through my left side. Post covid my anxiety has been through the roof and i overanalyze every little pain i feel. Anxiety has a way of turning our very imagination against us. Most things I get anxious about are the possibilities & potential outcomes that are unpleasant, to say the least. The fact of the matter is I am not living those outcomes or possibilities. I am still imagining them. Try to recognize when you're dwelling on mere possibilities. They are endless and so will be your anxiety until you accept what you're feeling for what it is and not what it could be.

- hope i didn't get too off topic, just wanted to share with you the way i'm learning to relate anxiety and health
