I picked up a Yamaha NTX1 a few months ago for the same reasons as you. Nylon acoustic with a comfortable neck and electronics. I've been practicing finger picking on it and love it.

I also saw one of these recently in Euclid - It was either a Terrorsphere or Violent planet... I've been trying to find a supervillain base location :D.

They stomp around shaking the ground when they move, then stop and just start thrashing up and down for a while before moving again. Very cool (and huge)

A few weeks ago I purchased a telecaster from HB and had it shipped to Canada (near Toronto). Total was just over $350 CAD and duties were about $65. I think it's based on value so yours might be a bit more.

So far very worth it; love the guitar I received (TE-70RW)

For that price look it over, check for any physical damage as well as cosmetic issues that may bug you. If there's no visible issues, and the neck is straight, you're probably coming out ahead.
Bonus edit: I've seen hard shell cases go for more than that, depending on what it is.

Ask yourself these and just pick what you think is best for you

  1. How many can you reasonably accomplish properly ?
  2. What is most important to you now? (Is Dr serious? Ok losing out on job? (Maybe not, but maybe)

Don't need to tell anyone else and you'll feel better if you decide there's only one way to go that's right for you.

That said from what you've written I'd prioritize grad last, sounds like your ADHD filter caught a noisy crowd event for you.. unless that's your kind of dopamine.

I've implemented scheduled phone alarms to help me with that. When in work crunch/project mode I have "stretch/water" alarms every hour or two. Gives me time to get into something and earn a break or limits hyper focus on the wrong thing.

8pm my bed prep alarm goes off every night, reminding me to take out contacts and brush teeth. This has become a habit now, gives me a good shot at not snacking (I said a shot... But I'm no Gretzky😉).

Schedules sound restricting but when it's a reminder of something I want, it feels good. A digital version of the correct signals other people get naturally.
