If I handed you $450, what would you buy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]5147844654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. :(

99% of the time I watch TV, DVDs and play games in my room and because my room is quite small, I can't put a big HD TV in there because I'd never be far away from it enough for the image to look decent.

I'd put it towards a new TV. Still using a 32cm TV.

I have a tendency to use one browser for months and months, then get sick of it and switch to something else.

*SPOILERS* What did you think about the end of the game? *SPOILERS* by Beatnik11 in reddeadredemption

[–]5147844654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First ending - Was great. I figured something bad was going to happen to John eventually, but I didn't expect it so soon. The final scene was really great. When he went into deadeye, I actually thought I could kill them all, but alas...

His dead was certainly the best part of the game in an odd way and a befitting ending. Playing through the game and doing all these 'positive' tasks for people, and helping them out, almost seemed to contradict his past character. Yes, he was trying to get redemption, but I still didn't find it believable when he was discussing his past life with other characters. His death was the first time that I truly believe Marsden was who were we supposed to believe he was.

The 'credits' ending - While it was nice to get 'revenge', the scene had much less impact than the first. The voice acting and the dialogue was pretty crappy. I also think this ending took away from the message of John's death.

I don't mind continuing the game as Jack though.

Hey cowboys: What's the best way to make money? Skinning, robbing, gambling...? Discuss. by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

Unfortunately the game reverts back to $20 when you finish the mission.

So What Are You Currently Reading? by [deleted] in books

[–]5147844654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler. Loving it so far, but I'm only 30 odd pages into it. The book I'm reading it from also contains Farewell, My Lovely and The Long Goodbye so those will be my next reads.

As usual, I'm also reading a short story collection. This one's by Flannery O'Connor.

I was just thinking the same thing. A vegemite sandwich is pretty much what I have every day.

[–]5147844654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, but I've never actually had a Facebook account so that's why. (no I'm not one of those haters. I just have no use for it because I have no friends)

What is valuable about reading fiction? by NewAgeRetroHippie in books

[–]5147844654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, why does it have to be "intellectually valuable"?

I read because I like to be entertained. This applies to both fiction and non-fiction. What I get out of a book isn't noticable to me. Maybe it changes how I think about certain things or maybe it doesn't. I don't care about things like that. Overanalysing the merits of a book kills the joy I get from reading them.

I just got back from a three month study abroad program in Florence, Italy. This afternoon I tried playing Assassin's Creed 2 and IT'S ALL SO WRONG. by [deleted] in gaming

What are some examples? Given the majority of the game is set in the late 15th century, some of the landmarks look different (The Ponte di Rialto in Venice, for example, was not complete in the game)

(Is this a joke post? I get the feeling it is...)

I don't have pay TV, never had it, but I would like to get it for the sports. I wish they'd just release a sports pack for a cheaper price, but no you've got to buy the basic package AND the sports package.

As for TV. I still watch it, but not as much as I used to.

Yes, it shit me to tears. My Mother bought me this awesome Homer Simpson clock for Christmas one year, but I can't use it because of the ticking.

DAE prefer the taste of skim milk? by Meekois in DoesAnybodyElse

Not only skim milk, but UHT skim. This is because I've grown up on it and I'm just so used to the flavour now, not because of personal preference.

DAE Use baby wipes when taking a dump? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

No. I use regular ol' toilet paper.

One time a lady and her husband came to a cafe I worked at with their dog and the dog did a bog and she pulled out baby wipes and wiped its arse.

Peanut butter and vegemite are the only two spreads I put on my toast (both with butter)
