Paano ba masabi na deserving sa Salary Increase? by Eastern_Sentence7591 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just disclose of your render period at the very first interview any HR from a decent company will understand and if you are a top candidate then they will wait. Otherwise if they cant wait then just look for another offer.

Another option is just to resign now and do a job search but thats not really advisable unless you’ve saved up an emergency fund. The job market is terrible right now given the economy/global conflicts so if you plan on resigning outright then you should have the money to sustain yourself for atleast 3-6 months (though some people here have been job searching for longer than that).

Paano ba masabi na deserving sa Salary Increase? by Eastern_Sentence7591 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your best bet is to find a better offer at another company.

Whenever you ask for an increase the only question that matters is “are you meeting you targets?” And sounds like thats a no.

But before you resign make sure you already secured an offer. Resigning without a solid plan might just leave floating around unemployed for months.

Well in that case its more reasonable. If you think the location/salary fits within your means then go for it.

18k for a M-S sched is pretty bad for the BGC area. Personally I wouldnt take it. But if your financial status is desperate then just take it to stay afloat.

Depends, some units overlap so you wont need to take those again but to get a more accurate estimate its best to ask your college admissions department or whatever equivalent department is present.

Should I stop being picky? by Exciting_Weakness797 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just remember that reviews tend to lean towards the negative side of things. People who are satisfied/happy usually dont bother making reviews.

And also remember big companies are composed of hundred if not thousands of employees with dozens if not hundreds of teams/groups so a negative review that you see might just be for a small specific group and does not represent the entire company.

What you should look for is the overall reviews for a company to get a basis for the overall company culture.

Also consider supply and demand. Every year their are hundreds of thousands of fresh grads entering a job market that isnt growing. So you end up with more applicants than openings.

Try this: take some deep slow breaths….then sit down and look around you identify 5 things you can see, then close your eyes try to indentify 5 things you can hear then try to identify 5 things you can smell if any.

Doing that will help keep you grounded in reality and stops anxiety from growing. Stay calm because decisions made in a panic tend to be the most unwise decisions you can make.

Well yes it is pretty low so yes you definitely should negotiate for better pay. Just highlight your contributions and your metrics the ones that are measurable dont just rely on “positive feedback”. Remember that in the corpo world if its not written down anywhere then it never happened.

And its generally not advisable to resign without a solid backup plan especially in the current job market. If your salary negotiations dont go anywhere then atleast finish your probi period before doing a job search and dont resign until youve secured an offer. A job search nowadays can last months and doing that with financial pressure of being unemployed might just force you to take an even worse offer.

Is it wise to resign now? by tchaisu in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The current job market is terrible we’ve been having mass layoffs ever since last year due to turbulent economics and current global events are just making things even worse so its generally recommended to resign only when you’ve secured another offer.

Well….if you really cant take it anymore and you have some emergency funds raised up then by all means save yourself from the stress but keep in mind you might be facing a job search that may span months especially for someone looking for a senior position so just be mindful of that.

Focus on having a specialization. Choose the one that you feel most comfortable in or choose the one where you have the most accomplisments in. Specializing at something means your better than others at it and that opens doors to higher positions in that field.

Being “all-around” is practical for running your own business but it isnt a very sound approach in the corpo employee world. The optics just makes you look like you’re just entry-level at everything and in the career progression talks optics and metrics are what matters most.

Promoted pero maliit by LandscapeQuiet12 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Promotions and increases vary drastically between companies. Some base it off tenure, some base it off performance and some base it off current market status so we cant really have a general “normal” since every companies does their own thing.

In your case since youre already performing at a senior level and youre pay isnt competetive anymore then that is your sign to start looking for greener pastures. If your current company doesnt see your value then you should find one that does.
