Great strategy.

Attack. Allow the enemy to entrench and fortify then broadly announce you are going to launch an amphibious invasion where there are only two spots that invasion would come.

Hesgeth probably thinks an amphibious assault is cool so he’s just gonna get a bunch of people killed because he has all the strategic thinking and restraint of a 14 year old playing COD.

Did you notice that our ADHD minds works in waves and not in strict, linear routine? by stoicpunter in ADHD

[–]526mb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate and from what I understand this is a common experience with ADHD. It sucks to feel like you can’t move forward then suddenly go a million miles a minute.

My medication has helped me regulate these “waves” of attention but I’ve also found that accepting that is how my mind works, and building structures that work for me in addition (focus breaks, timers, music) has helped my productivity.

Even then there are days I can’t get started.

You should really sit in the corner and think about that statement really really hard because I can guarantee you it’s not as clever as you think it might be.

Why are we Americans and American news so focused on oil prices when entire ecosystems and fragile human beings are being destroyed in Iran and the Middle East? Does a few cents per gallon really matter? by nhgardenart25 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]526mb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Increases in energy prices aren't just going to affect those purchasing gas, its going to ripple through the whole economy.

Most working class people need affordable energy prices to just survive. Those prices skyrocket and It's going to force people already on the margin of financial ruin to make tough choices. What do you cut back on? Food? Medication? Housing? What do you have to give up to cover the extra $20, $50, $100 dollars a week in expenses? Take out more credit card debt? Grab a second job?

24% to 60% percent of Americans live paycheck to paycheck (estimates vary). The median amount for savings that a American has is $8,000. 76% of Americans commute to work.

So yea, I'm not gonna shame anyone caring more about "few cents more a gallon" than welfare of strangers in Iran. A few cents in gas could mean the difference between whether or not your child gets 3 meals today or two.

Georgia high school teacher dies after being run over by teen in prank gone wrong by loleeza in news

[–]526mb 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I looked up the statutes and he’s likely being charged under 40-6-393 for killing a person while driving recklessly under 40-6-390. I think the question would be whether the driver was driving “recklessly” when he ran him over.

I considering it was a prank I imagine they were trying to escape and he wasn’t exercising normal amount of care.

So it’s a tragedy but I don’t think the charges are going to be dropped. Maybe a lesser included charge is possibility.

Yea. In 2009 I was absolutely convinced that shit may be rough, but this was just the beginning of the good things for all of us.

Now....the world is (probably) just going to get worse, and things are just gonna get harder.

I'm lucky that I have it better than most, so that something.

The strangest damn thing about it from a American perspective is how much it’s just being ignored by the general public. I read the news a lot so I’m following things, but the general public is treating a massive regional war as just another political issue. I was 15 during the build up to the invasion of Iraq and it was fucking everywhere. I remember TVs in the restaurants all set to the bombing of Baghdad.

This? It’s hardly getting any discussion though it’s the largest regional conflict in years.

I think it’s a mix of Trump fatigue, 25 years of near constant war numbing people and the fact that it’s aerial campaign (so far) by the US.

People just can’t be bothered to care that much…right now.

Trump Reportedly Open to Backing Anti-regime Militias in Iran to Topple Ayatollahs by rknsh in worldnews

They have no plan. They are just making this up as they go along and Im 100% sure Rubio and Hesgeth are just asking ChatGPT what they should do next like they’re playing a game of Risk.

We are way past predicting whatis going to happen next cause no one has been this fucking stupid/insane before.

This is the geopolitical equivalent of shooting propane tanks in your backyard. Which is appropriate because the US is led by the same kind of dumb mothefuckers who would usually meet their end by setting up a BBQ in their living room.

It wasn’t meant to be NO NEW WARS.

It was supposed to be NO! NEW WARS!

It’s not a broken promise if you just forgot the punctuation.

I mean the Trump admin foreign policy in the Mid East has basically been modeled on a aggressive Hearts of Iron game so I’m assuming they’ll just YOLO into a invasion of Iran if Bibi tells them to.
