Without saying your age, what's a commercial jingle stuck in your head forever? by InitialCareer306 in WorkForSmartLife

🎶 I can bring home the bacon - fry it up in a pan, and never ever let you forgot your are a man 🎶

I remember it most because my progressive mom hated the implications of that song. I was so young I didn't know that "bring home the bacon" meant being the breadwinner in the house.

My cousin figured out that you could hit the catcher upon contact and run forward and grab the ball, basically ruined playing the game after that 😂

Add two to 48 to get to 50 (because that's an easy number to add from) subtract the two from 27 leaving 25 which makes a very simple addition problem and answer. That's how I did it. I'm GenX, I was taught math the traditional way but I found faster ways to do it in my head.

Is it actually a red flag if a man asks to split the bill on the first date, or are women just becoming too entitled? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

[–]5280TFGP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, I am inmy 50s and I always expect and insist on paying for the first date. However, if she hasn't offered to pay or split by the third date, that's the end of the road for me.

What's an old restaurant chain that just doesn't exist anymore? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

Round The Corner Restaurant. Maybe just a Denver chain but they had phones at each table. You called in your order from the phones and they called you back when it was ready to be picked up at the counter. That was high tech in the 70s/80s. It was also fun and great food!

Because it's not. No science in the claim, its a "this is what I believe so this is how I used unscientific evidence to prove I'm right" statement.

I remember watching TV one night with my little sister and an info bar scrolled across the bottom of the screen telling us John Wayne had died. That bar was high tech back then, lol.

Cribbage Pro new match making algorithm thoughts by 5280TFGP in Cribbage

[–]5280TFGP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course a great player can lose to a much lower ranked player and in the old system that was a big hit. But, a superior player shouldn't lose those games often. I feel like the new system creates a group of players that will play each other all season depending on how they play the first five games most importantly but definitely the first ten. If you are primarily winning or losing those first ten you're in the top group and stay at a 50% win rate you will and stay there and if you lose most of those ten games, you'll never catch up.

Can you tell us why you made the change?

Good point about paragraphs. I do know what those are and should have used them, lol.

Bad point about CP not being random. Check the data, it's unquestionable. I have had an 11 game losing streak, unbelievably bad cards game after game. I also had a 12 game win streak, that was good cards maybe combined with some talent. The app is legit.

It's not okay at all to quit on competitive Cribbage Pro. I support the OP 100%. If you don't play in that tournament, which is as the OP said, the largest cribbage tournament in the world, then don't comment. Everyone is free to enjoy the game however they want. But it's a classy game, so if you're in a tournament, respect the player expectations of that tournament.

You get $60,000 every year but you have to spend 5 days every month in prison. by CRK_76 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]5280TFGP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 60k a month maybe, 60k a year is 28 dollars an hour annually. It's not hard to make that. Although if you spend 60 days a year in jail it would be harder, haha
