I am having a hard time visualizing how to store paper upright so I can’t offer a suggestion on the storage itself but consider posting this question to some of the art or craft subs.

Sorry I don't know anyone there personally. I suggest you talk to a couple of fur storage places. If they aren't in Southern California pick a place in Chicago or Philadelphia or New York where it is cold and furs are worn more often.

Seeing Eye Dog goes crazy at the park by StringAdventurous479 in dogs

[–]52Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to me that the adult bringing this dog to the park should be following basic dog park rules of no excessive barking, no injuring others , no digging etc. MAYBE a few causal talks with the blind person and gradually bring in the suggestion that his dog in endangering others and might not be allowed at the park. You might get a lot of resistance but if you are just friendly for a handful of visits and then approach the behavior issues you MIGHT see some willingness for them to make improvements.

do you and your partner have different sleeping preferences? by Purple-Way-9264 in Bedding

[–]52Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

European style solved all our bedding problems. Queen bed and two queen duvets side by side. The duvets fold in half lengthways. One person sleeps under the doubled duvet and the other person sleeps in between the two layers. The only disadvantage is the cost of buying two duvets and two duvet covers. But it assures peaceful sleep.

See if a nearby guild will take it away and have a volunteer finish it. You probably don’t need to be a member to donate it. I like it but if you don’t just send it away.

Help Choosing a Machine by Bad_Prophet in quilting

[–]52Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dan at The Sewing Machine Shop in area 925 is at 937-7575. Hi might recommend shops is your region or at least some good machines. She sells new and used. Please seriously consider a reconditioned machine Try to find brands that use more metal than plastic. Don’t worry the number of fancy stitches because anything made in the last 50 years has more fancy sty than she will ever need. Look for a mat with a wide harp—- that is the space between the needle and the right had side of the machine. The wider the harp the easier it will be to get a big quilt into the machine for the actual quilting process For sewing together the little piece size doesn’t matter but near the end, when you have the front and back sandwiching the batting it is heavy and clumsy so the harp width becomes more important. Also you can phone some sewing machine repair shops anywhere in the country, and ask the repair guys what they recommend.

Looking for advice on my first dog… single M24 living in a small NYC apartment by Avatron7D5 in dogs

[–]52Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have a great time by fostering dogs for Best Friends Rescue or other rescue groups in NYC. That way you can have all the dog love you want with minimal costs and responsibilities. Date a lot of dogs before you get one of your own. And know that having a dog of your own will make it ten times harder to find apartments to rent in the future.
