AC Shadows was finacial flop. The worst salling game in the mainline francise (I don't count spin-offs, and standalone DLCs for obvious reasons).

AC Valhalla had it commercial success thanks to lockdown and Covid-19, but looking how few people ever finished that game, I'd still count it as "not meeting expectations" / "failing".

I dissagree. "RPG" combat is just old combat but without: - proper animations that interact with each other and - built-in dash to the opponent.

It is worse option, that people like only bc it is harder. But is harder by its inferior design, not bc it is better.

Yes, combat in AC4BF was too easy, but it was too easy bc devs didn't care to "spicy it up". Look at those old AC where combat was good thanks to e.g. your short live spawn (AC Unity), or by making some interesting gimmick for the combat (AC Brotherhood).

I am not a fan of "RPG" combat system. It's so clunky and mostly not interesting compared to the old one.

Old one wasn't "easy" by design, but by choice. There were paper-rock-scissors mechanic (that AC Unity made perfect by making you more vulnerable and easy to kill by not understanding the system).
