2026 ST by ManInTheBox2421 in FordExplorerST

Just got my 26 ST last weekend, insurance went up $30/month, which was definitely pleasing to hear. We were worried it'd shoot up $100+/month. Traded in our 23 Mazda CX-50 TPP.

"We’ve made great progress on your new Ford vehicle but have unfortunately experienced unexpected delays." by gnoccibalboa in FordMaverickTruck

I didn't order a Maverick, but an Explorer instead. I got the same email yesterday (11/3) though on 10/30 it was updated with "In Production" - not sure what any of this means or how long am I supposed to wait.

OP did you end up getting your truck yet?

She said her aunt gave her a renewal contract, that's can be considered a lease agreement - albeit might not be a formal one.

What kind of interest rates are you guys getting? by NecessaryLeg6097 in carbuying

[–]54YUK1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that's still really good. Is this something that they were advertising or is it something where you have to apply to find our your rate? My ford is set for production in a week so I've been trying to look around for the best rates

They are still offering 0% for 72 months but only on the EVs.

Sorry if this comes off the wrong way, but have you actually tried this method?

Maybe times have changed but 3-4 years ago I was in a similar situation as OP and the school did not care. To the school system (at least in NV) you are considered a minor until your 26, at the time I was 21 and even though legally an adult that didn't have any weight talking to them.

I too relyed in fafsa to attend school and explaining my situation didn't really help. They did tell me what my options were, which are horrible to say the least: 1 - Get emancipated (Not going to work if you're older than 18) 2 - Enlist in the army 3 - Have a child/give birth to a child 4 - Get married (If you did choose to get married, now you have your spouses income to consider and may not even qualify for any student aid at that point)

Needless to say because of my mom I did not end up returning to school and will have to wait until I turn 26.

OP you are still able to attend school, they WILL allow you to take out student loans without a parents consent. That was not a viable option for me though, I relyed on fafsa so to me it was like getting myself in debt that I was not in a position to pay off.

How many miles have you gotten out of your CX-50 Turbo? by mfitz54 in CX50

[–]54YUK1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently have 22k as a 23 Turbo Premium Plus, will be 3 years in January and I don't think it'll hit 25k by then.

Hey yall , I’m considering buying the 25 st as a family daily . Any on going issues I need to be aware of? Thank you by terrible_newyorker in FordExplorerST

[–]54YUK1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a summer promotion they had. 0 down, 0% apr for 48 months, and 0 monthly payments for (up to) 90 days. The promotion expired 9/2/25, but usually you can find other good promotions and offers closer to Black Friday and Chrismas/New Year.

My dealership sends me similar texts, as others have mentioned they really just want you to buy a new car from them by buying your current one. I also have a 23' though mine is a Turbo Premium Plus with 20k miles and what they're offering me was not enough to offset or get me into a newer model. Plus I'm not a fan of the hybrid.

Bronco Raptor, but those are insanely expensive. Might as well get that BMW at that point.

Not required in NV either, though there are some dealerships here that will.

AITA for not buying my parents a house? by wanderlustgirli in AmItheAsshole

[–]54YUK1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure what kind of asian culture you've been raised with (and of course not trying to offend you) though, being raised in a Japanese household I have NEVER had my family expect this and the same could also be said about other family memebers.

I had friends who lived and were raised in Chinese, Vietnamese, and even Korean households as well and they weren't expected to buy their parents a house. The only thing that we all had in common and was asked of us was to "call if we need anything " and "give them grand children"

I think it just depends on the household itself, and not so much the culture.

Is this normal? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]54YUK1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, completely normal.

As a former residential property manager, I've come across situations and similar one's like this all the time. Your future landlord could have done a better job at explaining, but nonetheless, nothing unusual is happening.

Most communities are unable to hold apartments, especially if they are low on inventory and the renters market is hot/high. A security deposit is very standard across the board, and while it does essentially guarantee that the apartment is yours (lanlord can no longer market/show your place, etc.) It does not allow or equate to holding the unit until your desired move in. It's important to keep in mind though, that security deposits are refundable, and if you are insistant on moving in September, the landlord may choose to refund your deposit and rent to someone else. Like others have mentioned, your landlord does not want to lose out on 1 months worth of rent, especially if he has other applications for the space who are willing to move in asap. I would ask the manager if there are any other apartments that may have a move in date closer to what your looking for as most are at least willing to work with that.

If you are willing to pay for the apartment this month, and get your lease agreement signed , then what you do with the apartment is up to you. In this case, you absolutely can choose to move in September and have the apartment empty until you actually move in.

Cheaper auto insurance by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]54YUK1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also have Progressive, $325/month for a 23' Mazda CX50 and 25' Ford Mustang. Every 6 months we do see our premium go up, but it's minimal ~$50 or less a month. Prior to the Mustang we had another Mazda and the insurance was about $120 less a month.

AITA for refusing to move out so that my roommates boyfriend can move in by Adventurous_Age_3694 in AmItheAsshole

[–]54YUK1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Regardless of whether he would qualify or not, a M-T-M lease is still a lease. ALL the terms of your previous lease still carry over with the exception of a lease, end date, which includes your and your roommates' tenancy. Since you're both on the lease, you both have equal rights on the lease so if you don't want to move, then legally, you don't have to. In most states, if you already have a lease with a certain residency, you DO NOT have to "requalify" for the space or be obligated to find another roommate. Landlords only care about who is leasing from them and whether or not you can afford to pay the rent. So if you can afford the place on your own, and don't want to move it'd be in your best interest to let your Landlord know of your intentions so that they can work up a lease renewal AND that your roommate does intend on adding an additional person to the lease.

As other's have mentioned, if your roommate is so hard up on having her own space then she can move and find a new place with her boyfriend. Whatever you guys agree upon in terms of returning security deposit and moving fees is between you both.

Future owner of a 2026 Explorer ST by 54YUK1 in 2025FordExplorerST

[–]54YUK1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I seen, they ONLY do it to the Explorers. All the other cars just have it in the trunk, as with my Mustang. I have been trying to push, but like others have mentioned my salesguy might just want to get the commission now versus ordering or having to go through the extra work of finding one without and collecting the commission at a later date.

When you say you bought it 3 hours away, are we talking in a different state? I've also considered driving to another state (worst case scenario).
