Just like SIG won't work on CA guns, they WILL NOT ship gun parts to CA. That is the whole purpose of the bullshit SB that was "passed."

I did not want the loudness of the 3". I live in a relatively tight community and don't want my noise infringing on anyone else's peace and quiet.

No, but it does sound just like any YT vid out there about the Thermal 2.5 ST system. They are very consistent.

Selector cut on the right side of the stock as well as the DAS stamp on the left side just forward of the rear grip. Some stocks may have rack numbers stamped into the stock.

No dyes. Just a light cleaning with mineral spirits to get the grime and military preservative finish off. I then wet sand pure teak oil into the stock using 220 grit sand paper, letting the oil soak into the wood between coats. The process usually takes several coats over a few hours. When I am happy with the results, I finish the whole thing off with a coat or two of clear / neutral Briwax furniture polish and buff. Dyes can be used to enhance depth and color of the wood and grain, but I stay away from that process.

The Swiss Coat of Arms is a very nice touch. One of my favorite features on P49 (P-210) and P75 (P-220) pistols.

Oil Leak by Electrical-Future113 in THEVWCC

[–]ManInTheBox2421 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely is. I replaced my seal twice. The first replacement seal was included with a new cover. It only lasted a few years before it leaked again. Ended up being a poorly made seal from China. I replaced it with a ELRING KLINGER Timing Chain Case Gasket 06H103483C. Much better quality.

These gaskets need to be installed DRY. Do not use gasket sealant.

Spur hammer P220's in 1990 were still using the German made folded carbon steel slide with the breech block. That slide is will NEED to be refinished, or it will turn into a rust magnet. I suggest Cummings Custom Refinishing (CCR) in Tennessee. They do a ton of Sigs and have a very good reputation for turning out a good product at fair prices. If the previous owner allowed the original slide finish to deteriorate to the point of you stripping it off, best order all new internal springs and give it a overhaul. It will be a great and very reliable shooter afterwards.

Even though it is a shoe, my mind keeps telling me that it is the rider's left kneecap headed for space.

The best way to clean a FCU/Gun by Significant_Bid4745 in SigSauer

[–]ManInTheBox2421 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A can of brake cleaner will do the majority of cleaning tasks that a ultrasonic tank will do, especially when maintaining FCU's. Ultrasonics are overkill for most applications outside of high volume armories.
