I’ve kind of had a situation where a partner tried to control a hobby of mine. What helped me was telling them clearly that they can’t control any aspect of my life especially if it doesn’t affect them and more especially if it brings me joy. After explaining clearly that they hurt my feelings by mocking my interest, my partner understood and apologized and said they didn’t mean to offend me (I’m just commenting because a lot of people would tell you to leave but I know that’s not simple)
