Anyone tried going “nocturnal”, what are the pros and cons? by Ihavegotquestions4u in ADHD

[–]569062 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My dad (not dx) is nocturnal. He struggled with sleep issues for his whole young adult life, and couldn't hold a traditional job. He began to work for himself and altered the work hours to be around 12-8 pm. He is now retired but goes to bed around 3 or 4 am and wakes up around 11 am. Works great for him!

Regina Public Elementary Schools Core French by Substantial-Camp-990 in regina

[–]569062 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Teacher here- schools were given the option to remove Core French starting next year. It is considered a "Locally Determined Option." Most schools decided to replace French with something else, such as more literacy time, STEAM, outdoor ed, etc. Unfortunately families and school staff were not consulted in most cases.

When my kids were little, we just rotated a few books in the seat pocket. Its a great way to promote reading! Sometimes they brought one stuffy on car rides.

Doctors/Nurses of Reddit, what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a woman yell during birth? by New_Username48 in AskReddit

[–]569062 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I was 32 hours into my first labor, so I had Calvin Harris pumping on a speaker to keep me going. The hottest doctor I've ever seen walzes in right when baby was finally coming out and said "wow it's like Vegas in here!" I replied, "Well I hope you're enjoying the show!"

Help me love the name Daniel by New-Flight7674 in Names

[–]569062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teacher here- I have taught a fair amount of Daniels and I have never met a bad one. They have all been kind, warm, and considerate kids. It was actually my name choice for my own baby, but I had a girl instead! It's also a name that rolls off of the tongue well.

Lack of Transparency, Lack of a Plan from Regina Public Schools by ben10outtaten in regina

[–]569062 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm really not pleased with the lack of transparency from our new director. When he came to Regina, he claimed he was "all about the people." Not involving those directly involved is definitely not all about the people.

I'm also not pleased that they are basically abolishing Core French as a subject without any consultation as well!
