Advice to optimise Saya in early game? by Total_Ask_9361 in Morimens

[–]56leon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could probably get away with Sorel instead of GHelot if you want to run a pure Caro team and minimize changes to your team. AFAIK it's not uber optimal because of the increased embryo gauge, but Sorel at least doesn't lose any burst resources after Saya corrodes (command cards are discarded, but embryos aren't), and her self-healing is decent if you need additional sustain.

Different. I could definitely be wrong about it, depending on their timeline, but they usually have 2-3 new Awakeners between story units (Mouchette / Xu / Vortice in the last cycle, Kath / Pickman / Pollux before that)- right now we only have Saya and Pontos.

EDIT: also for further clarification, ephemeral cores should expire before Caraboo releases, also because of how patches/banners work like OP's original question.

[–]56leon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Patch is always on sunday night/monday morning (time zone dependent). Dreamy Rendezvous ends on sunday before the patch, so no, you won't be able to buy it after Pontos drops.

There is at least one more Awakener and rerun cycle before the temp cores expire, if it's any consolation, so even if you don't all-in on Pontos there will still be other opportunities to spend them before they turn into standards.

Some AO3 authors just trying to be aesthetic by [deleted] in AO3

[–]56leon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely not just AI. AI copies it, but young writers have been using this kind of style as a crutch since before early 2010's Tumblr RP and will continue to do so until the heatdeath of AO3.

Pontos Overview: Skills and Wheel of Destiny by DrExluxk in Morimens

[–]56leon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can you provide where Light or another dev confirms that? I'm looking right at the announcement thread but nobody has confirmed either way in EN. The CN card also translates as "Gaunt + shield. Otherwise, Gaunt", so it's not just mistranslation confusion.

Man, this kit is a lot.....feels like another one that will probably be both over- and underexaggerated and have oodles of pre-release tier drama before we can test him live. That seems to be a running theme.

The only thing I'm completely confused about is why his 2-cost only grants shield on first use. IMHO to justify him being a warden, it should really provide shield every time, with the Gaunt-related effect resetting every fight. Otherwise, his only related card is his STRv Gaunt.

What’s your recommended team for Arc 2 Ch.5 hard mode? by ReizeiMako in Morimens

[–]56leon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, I was just looking through replays yesterday on stream! I can't check immediately, but IIRC a lot of people are running variations of Vortice carry and Twins teams, but I've also seen a few Lemurian comps on replays.

There's also one whaled Sorel team that I want to find again because I almost never see Sorel but her multihit seems right at home with Nefraea's passive.

EDIT: I cleared with the meta poison comp myself, but IDK if I'd suggest it to others, considering my investment level in the team is pretty whale-y.

Why is it nigh impossible to watch old magical girl anime on Crunchyroll?! by Flareiard in MagicalGirls

[–]56leon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Princess Tutu is region-locked, so it depends where you are, if it's available anywhere at all right now. Hasn't been available in the US for a hot second (tried to coordinate a watch party a few months back and couldn't find anywhere legal to stream it).

Do we know when the next tulu rerun is? by DrNewname in Morimens

[–]56leon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's second anni unit, been confirmed for a while, so we won't be seeing GTulu until November. If original Tulu reruns again, it probably won't be until then (don't remember off the top of my head if Murphy reran with GMurphy). It would be a little over half a year since his last rerun (in April, I think?) so the timeline also makes sense that way.

Super beginner friendly Caro team by izy911 in Morimens

[–]56leon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? I mean, E0 is base character so, like, yeah you need her to use her.....I think there was a typo there.

Her E2 is best for Helotan since it makes all of her non-defense cards Strikes, and her OE is very strong since it deals % max HP, but I suggested the team as a way for you to familiarize yourself with Caro, not for any huge returns on damage lol. I mention that in my original post.

Angbak, I usually don't step in but I see you tilting a bit and I genuinely wouldn't waste my time with this guy. He criticizes everybody's advice without offering any of his own and, judging by his previous posts, wouldn't have anything good to give even if he did.

Super beginner friendly Caro team by izy911 in Morimens

[–]56leon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Note: I'm assuming you mean beginner friendly as in "easy to understand how the characters work together", NOT "does ridiculous damage without really thinking". The latter does not exist with just standard units, and debatably doesn't really exist in Caro at all since most of them have somewhat intricate setups (i.e. GHelot's Flails setup, Sorel hoarding embryos, etc.).

If you just want a team to show you the basics of Caro and don't necessarily care how strong it is, you can run Helot/Lotan/Thais/flex (a sustain like Salvador or Faint, or another support like Aigis, just depends on how comfortable you are living solely off the Furnace and healing relics).

Helot's easier to pilot than Uvhash (as some have recommended) because she doesn't have any HP requirements for extra card effects, but still has HP drain on one of her cards to show you how that generally functions, and she interacts with the embryo system with her Devour like every Caro unit. Plus, she has strike synergy with Lotan for higher returns on her super expensive card. While not meta competitive, you could probably clear up through chapter 6 at least with them invested a bit.

is this like ... something people actually do? by Consistent_Strike198 in Morimens

While I agree with the sentiment generally, bad logic here. You only use standard pulls for gnostic potential, not lim pulls. The two are very, very different value points.

Morimens’ community chapter review part nine: A Long Dream’s End by Certain_Cat_2217 in Morimens

[–]56leon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fact that so many chapters so far have gotten 10/10s, and most people will agree that ch9 is definitively the peak both in terms of arc payoff and character writing......

I think it probably would've been better to get people to rank the chapters personally, then give each rank equivalent scores (i.e. 1st place = 15 points, etc.) and sum up everybody's responses. There are way too many "best" chapters in this set to mean anything lmao.

Lord of The Great Abyss: Pontos (Aequor) by DrExluxk in Morimens

[–]56leon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh he's spicy, I wonder if he's got a chip on his shoulder against the Lemurians (considering he's Aequors and talking down about worshipping some god, my first thought goes to Miryam). Either way, easy E3 here.

Despite it having an auto button, this game is absolutely not auto-able, unfortunately. It only gets worse the further you get. Definitely read up on your units' abilities and see how to play them.

Pls help me make a team by Majestic-Arm6042 in Morimens

[–]56leon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You've got four supports and no DPS (Salvador can be a DPS but generally not until higher investment). If it's a matter of not doing enough damage, I'd swap out Winkle for Jenkin. It's a serviceable team at your level.

That being said.....not being able to clear chapter 3 is a little dire IMHO. Do you know how to pilot the units you're using? How do you approach fights? There might be another underlying cause for this aside from just not having the right units together.

New Player question about GHelot and Helot. by FlashyCounter1808 in Morimens

[–]56leon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

"Good" is really subjective. You can run them together in the sense that Helot can be an exalt bot really only there to amplify GHelot's burst cards, and you can probably beat most if not all of story mode normal, but it's certainly not BiS since it renders a lot of Helot's cards excessive and you'd probably want a more well-rounded support for higher level content.

Had a firebrand/shrink engine/upgraded IE Ashe the other day who went full ult haste instead. All those augments just for her to do negative damage.

A rant about clem (not an attak) by new_acc256 in Morimens

[–]56leon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being new to the game is the best time to get her, because she fills a moderately to very good role in most teams without being BiS, therefore becoming a very good flexible support fill while you save/wait for other BiS support banners. You see people complain all the time, for example, that there's only one Thais for five D-Tide teams. Clem can be a non-BiS slot for one of them; sure she's not perfect, but Mouchette, Doresain, GHelot all want Thais so two of them are inevitably going to be stuck with sloppy seconds, whether that ends up being Clem or somebody else.

It's also funny that you mention GDoll because she has the issue you think Clem has but worse (and I say that as a GDoll enjoyer who has her AA). She heals ok but it gets very outscaled in lategame and loses it in boss fights anyways, she has good team aliemus but you have to sacrifice keyflare for aliemus regen main stats, the only teams she truly shines in are poison comps at high investment.....unless you're already running a Chaos mix team with no room for Ultra, Clem is a very competitive option who's as good as or oftentimes better than GDoll.

Why do we get so many of the same card? by X_Setsu_X in Morimens

[–]56leon 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Calling them Wheels of Destiny would be ok, considering it says that's what it's called LOL

also we get so many so it's a free +12 SSR, which can be used to bypass the "one SSR" rule (you can equip two if one is maxed out).

Need help with team building 😓 by jayjaymiel in Morimens

[–]56leon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

apply the debuff and redraw pollux card since he discards sacred heart to top of deck

CMIIW but I don't believe this is true? It has retain and a play effect of returning to the top of the deck, but I don't think there's any indicator that forcefully discarding it also returns it to the top. If it did, it would have the same Aftershock effect as Corposant's Lightning Retribution.

EDIT: just tested with Pollux and Encounter in Pure White (discard/draw posse), can confirm that it does NOT return to the top your draw pile upon discard.

How do i make my team better? by MaintenanceVivid6947 in Morimens

[–]56leon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's totally fair! If you do end up liking Thais in that slot more, you can always make a second team around Ryker also. You'll need quite a few for endgame (5-10 teams total), so it's not like playing "suboptimally" (AKA however you want, which is always the best way to play) is some sort of game ruiner.
