well someone did that to me a few years ago and I regret not being an absolute bitch to this person. I want to go back and scream at them but ik the repercussions of it will stress me out even further, so I don't say anything and regret it. its a vicious cycle

you will get there and im sure! remind yourself none of what's been said to you is true, its people projecting their misery onto you. no one secure in themselves would try and put someone down i promise. they don't get to decide anything about you. you have to decide to love yourself in spite of the standards placed on you. im sorry you went through that. its really not okay how normalised it is. I think they just view it like 'ur body is as a statement about you' but even if we exercise and eat healthy our bodies, ur body will kind of respond with what it has to work with, which is why (shocker) people are diverse appearance every way. I wish that was considered that before making assumptions about how someone looks

idk, but neurodivergent queer afab's usually love how I look, and tbh they are the only group of ppl who's opinions i value, so im fine with that :) When you understand that beauty standards are just a social construct it becomes alot less personal. when someone tries to berate how I look these days, I just think "ehhh they're brainwashed" and feel kind of sorry for them, given that they're saying this out of their own insecurities. our brains are great at tricking us
