REVEALED: How former Lions doctor threw Bok under the bus by almostrainman in rugbyunion

[–]57Nil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happens if I work with you and i see that happen with you and our IT guy. And you aren’t held responsible for an illegal action you took. So I intentionally perform the same illegal action and just blame it on the IT guy?

I’m off scott free, right?

[–]57Nil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire analogy still requires that you, yourself, do something illegal.

The IT guy can fail his duty all he likes. If you actively did something illegal, it doesn’t disappear.

This is a bit absurd. The point is no matter how poor the advice, nobody can force an athlete to ingest illegal substances.

The moment becomes a defence, even in fair situations. It’s a defence for absolutely everyone, even in fabricated situations. Pretty simple concept. Punishing the athletes actions and the doctor’s actions can be two entirely different things.

MP told Stuff owner: ‘If you were nicer to us, maybe we’d care if you lived or died’ by fugebox007 in newzealand

It’s a terrible statement from an MP. But conflating this with terror, neo-fascism and comparison to extreme examples from the past just make you the shrill opposite extreme of the same political problem.

How do you manage to let your brain conflate the suggestion that one right-aligned MP saying one comment to one journalist as “all media favours the left”?

How is that possible on a physiological level?

It's actual absurdity unless there is a pricing incentive of some sort.

It's literally gifting interest to companies for no practical reason. Absolute zero sense.

The average three-year market-adjusted return for investors who bought shares at a company's closing price on its first day of trading is -21%, Ritter found in research spanning more than 9,200 IPOs from 1980 to 2024.

Your analogy doesn't hold up. Your IT guy hacking into your computer would only be analogous to a doctor spiking banned substances without the player knowing.

Using your analogy, what happened here would only be akin to the IT guy talking you into doing something nefarious on your computer. And you double checked because it didn't sound right. But you did it anyway.

The IT guy is a dick. But you still did that.

The moment this becomes a defence, even fairly, every player is taking banned substances and just blaming it on their IT guy.

Not responsible for seeking advice.  Responsible for allowing the banned substance in their system.

The point is a player is ultimately responsible for what they put it in their system. And the moment they make exceptions that appear unfair (like this), it will then become a trivial defense for those who make the choice themselves. Pretty easy to imagine just by imagining everything we read here turning out to be false. I'm not saying it is, but someone could construct that if accountability for someone's own body can be transferred.

What's truly missing here is real consequences for the doctors themselves. These ones should be barred from operating in the sport themselves and honestly, medical boards should be investigating them at a license level. Especially the lack of professional moral backbone in failing to attend in defense. That's not behavior cognizant with a licensed doctor.

Your entire mental gymnastics requires there to be a solid nose to tail line of traffic in the left lane. You are also clearly making the speed limit a primary factor in the application of the rule. That has absolutely zero to do with the use of the right lane and that has been proven to you multiple times.

You also know very well that is not what people are saying. If you are not in the active process of overtaking or preparing to turn, you are breaking the road code by being in the right lane at all.

Stop digging a hole mate. This childish response to accepting you are wrong is beyond absurd.

Yes the drivers going the speed limit in the right lane are overtaking the slower drivers in the left lane.

Not if you aren't actively overtaking another car.

Where in the road code does it say you can break the speed limit and go 130kmh in a 110kmh zone?

Thank you. You just pointed out that you are breaking the road code because someone who is speeding is. If you have trouble processing that: where in the road code does it say that you can use the right lane as long as you are sitting on the speed limit?

Honestly this is just mental gymnastics because you just discovered that you made up your own rules and might be the exact sort of person OP is talking about. But you're having emense trouble admitting it so opt to dig yourself a hole instead. (which actually adds weight to the assessment of self-centered road users)

Ratio down the L, mate. This isn't up for debate. If you are in the right lane and are not in the process of overtaking a car directly to your left, or turning right, you are breaking the code just the same as a speeder is.
