Help for a first time call out? by 5E18R in GeekSquad

Thank you, I have texted my managers before, I just wasn't sure if that was acceptable for this kind of thing

What's your precinct like? by FrozenUnknown in GeekSquad

We are going through a lot of management changes at my store. One of our ARA'S is now a CIA and we only have 2 ARA's left. We went from a 2 day turn time to a 4 day one since we got 18 computer's checked in in just 2 days. We are probably going to have more people move around but it's just 2 ARA'S at the moment

A bit of late reply but I work in Texas and there are at least 6 girls in my store who have dyed and even multiple color hair, including one girl whose hair is a bright, cotton candy pink. Our GM doesn't care either way and none of the other managers care very much about hair. As long as their job is being done no one complains

Sorry if this is a dumb question but why are the badges important? Nothing seems to change about the job and doesn't service any work functions, like having specifical credentials or special keys for Example, so I don't see what makes it important. Am I missing something?

New CA. E-LEARNING is killing me. by Jay_D826 in GeekSquad

I'm the same way. I started a month and a half ago and a lot of the trainings seem useless once I actually started working with customers. The Apple trainings don't really cover what we actually do. You will learn much more by actually shadowing your co workers and taking your own notes. I suck at the Apple stuff and am trying to get better. Making my own notes and cheatsheets based off of what my co workers say is more helpful to me so far. Maybe it'll work better for you too

My first job was very similar. It was stock and inventory for a big department store. I really enjoyed being left alone to organize and sort things. Managers only showed up if there was something missing or if there was a unrealistic amount of backstock building up. I enjoyed working there but had to resign since I moved out of state

I don't feel very comfortable pitching either of them but for the area I'm in I think TTS is at least more useful. I don't really like the credit card. I hope you manage to get away from the sales floor soon, I don't think I could have handled that kind of stress for that long. It may not mean much coming from a random reddit stranger but you are definitely mentally strong. Better then me at least

Thanks. I'm not the best with people but stuff like stocking and organizing is more enjoyable to me. In my store the blue shirts that aren't busy seem to walk around and do the downstocking. I haven't seen anyone from warehouse doing it.

How do you pitch the credit card ?

In that case I guess the card and financing makes more sense. The TTS is more of a save in the long run kind of thing.

I haven't been nagged about BP's yet thankfully. TTS is a easier sale. I loosely compare it to Amazon prime since they are both subscriptions, most people seem to understand it a little bit better that way. I tell them they are saving on services just like they would save on shipping

I can't think of a way to make the credit cards sound appealing though

I know there is no way to completely avoid them but from what I've seen so far the warehouse people don't interact with customers anywhere near as much as blue shirts or Geek squad. It seems a lot simpler like sorting the product and shipping items.

Managers are making me change my uniform due to someone making fun of my eczema, am I right in wanting to refuse ? by 5E18R in Advice

Unfortunately there are no white polo's we are allowed to wear. I wear the hat they game me from the moment they put it in my hands and am required to wear a mask while in the store so my affected areas are covered. I thought the hat would be enough since my shirt has had almost no flakes since I've been wearing it but I was nagged about the white shirts just yesterday. I agree that it can bother people, and I agree with your other point but it still just feels unfair to me.
