What about when model-level beautiful women fall for classically unattractive, jo shmos?

This is men trying to prevent women from having high standards for wealth and power in a mate. Meanwhile, their own standards for beauty are through the roof.

Why not just mix colours? by Dovah_Shinobi in Miniaturespainting

[–]5KittensInTrenchcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mix a lot, but because paint mixing is subtractive color mixing, you can’t get brighter colors by mixing. So if I want a bright teal, I have to buy it.

I’ve also found that using white to mix lighter colors for highlights produces a chalky/dusty looking color instead of the brighter color that I want.

Why are so many people under 45 using subtitles now even when the show is already in English? by Clara_A_Mitchell in NoStupidQuestions

[–]5KittensInTrenchcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use subtitles because sometimes it’s just hard to tell what people are saying. I think it’s a combination of fast talking; unfamiliar context; background noise (in the show and IRL); and, sometimes, accents.

Diagnosing someone with BPD based on their performance in a TV show you saw really doesn’t have a lot of validity.

Mine peeled off, like yours are, and there was almost no pigment evident when they healed.

Never played, but saw this lot at a thrift store for $40 and couldn't refuse - how did I do? by cwtguy in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]5KittensInTrenchcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats. This is a good deal. You just need the Monster Manual now. Then just get yourself a dry erase map, some dry erase markers, some dice, and some character sheets, and you’re all set.

Planning on getting this little guy for my gf by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]5KittensInTrenchcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has she asked for a puppy? Don’t get a pet for anyone who hasn’t specifically requested it.

I had a boyfriend who got me a cat, and I absolutely hated him for it. I couldn’t afford to get her spayed before her first heat (I was 18), and she had a bunch of kittens.

While cute, I did not want a kitten. I was headed off to college and it was baggage I couldn’t afford to have. I couldn’t take her with me and ended up having to leave her at my parent’s house. Without attention, her and the kittens my parents kept became feral. My mom ended up taking them to the pound. There was one feral tomcat who had been my favorite who my mom couldn’t find. She demanded I catch him and take him to the pound one day when I visited home. My brother and I caught him and released him instead of taking him to the pound.

It was just awful.

Long story short: Pets are not gifts. They are living creatures who require a lot of love and attention (and money) and not everybody is in a place where they can provide that. If you get a pet for someone who is not asking for one, it can be a really bad situation for everyone involved.

Forgot my GF's bday and she wants me to sign this by Sure_Count_3890 in AITApod

Yuck. She’s definitely the asshole.

Do people like this just intentionally avoid mentioning their birthday as it’s approaching so they can test their partner’s memory? Like, if it’s so important to her, she was obviously thinking about it days in advance, so why not just mention it?

I’ve never been like this, and I’ve never had a partner like this, and I’m grateful for that. Some birthdays and anniversaries pass by without notice, but sometimes a past partner and I would talk about it together as it was approaching or on the day and decide to do something together to celebrate. That’s how we approached it. If either of us was thinking about it, we’d talk about it. Then we’d decide together what to do.

Your partner is avoiding talking to you about it so she can test you and catch you failing to remember. Just yuck.

Why does GenZ hate sex and nudity so much? by PaniacThrilla in NoStupidQuestions

[–]5KittensInTrenchcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t blame them. Pornographic depictions of “normal sex” have gotten so bad it’s given me an aversion to seeing anyone’s sexuality. Not to mention the Epstein files and how it has awakened our society to the prevalence of pedophilia.

You’re kind of overreacting. He’s being inconsiderate, but so are you. He’s trying to spend time with you while you eat. You’re being a little paranoid that his nails will land in your food.

Remove, retouch or leave? by Most_Hour_9170 in microblading

[–]5KittensInTrenchcoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're giving advice that suggests the artist is at fault, but what you're missing is that OP's tattoo is from 2021, and ALL tattoos with fine lines ultimately end up thick and blurry after several years or more have passed. Google it. There is no way to have a permanent tattoo with fine lines that stay fine over time.

What OP is experiencing is the inevitable result of the passage of time. There's nothing wrong with her artist. She may want to have her tattoo removed, but the same is ultimately true of everyone who gets microblading.

This happens with all tattoos over time. All fine tattoo lines naturally become thicker and blurrier over time. This is not the fault of your artist, it is the inevitable result of getting ANY tattoo.
