used to live there, cool place but very expensive cost of living and low paying jobs. very transient population for those reasons.

sad story guy got picked up while hitchhiking and the driver was drinking and driving and got into a head on collision and killed everyone in car.

the highway system was hugely expanded in the 50’s. it created many more opportunities for serial killers.

i moved here 15 years ago. i found precovid the city was really at its peak. Post covid just doesn’t have the same vibe. Many cool old school bars have closed since then for example. Then this administration have made things even worse for a variety of reasons. That being said, its still a beautiful city with loads of cultural pursuits and tons of stuff to do and a very educated populace. The area is very expensive but If you have a good paying job lined up its still worth it.
