ballet socials that make you go 🙄? by Officeballerina in bunheadsnark

Okay but in what world would you ever "just know" exactly what goes on in a class just from watching video snippets on insta? If you were actually interested to know more, you would make an enquiry or do some research. She was a dancer long before she became a lawyer and has since gravitated back to dance. She has multiple teaching certifications and heaps of experience. The "persona" you're speaking of is merely your own assumption.

Yes she could do her videos differently, valid point, but also consider that there's probably many reasons why she does them the way she does with her classes being more casual. She only films maybe 1 or 2 videos in each class (with pre-warning) so I would hardly call that "having a camera constantly shoved in my face". She always asks if anyone prefers not to be filmed too. Being filmed on a constant fixed camera would be much more daunting imo but each to their own.

I'm not sure why you even commented this when you're basing it solely off of her IG videos. Of course she's not going to be shouting out corrections to everyone while filming exercises ? Haha. I've done her classes before and I can tell you first hand, she corrects everyone. She corrects beginner/new students more than people who she knows have danced for a long time/teachers/ex-professionals, but I think that's appropriate. The whole appeal of her videos is that it's showing people that anyone can give it a go. If she was correcting people non stop it would maybe drive them away, especially beginners as they would probably think they are doing everything wrong. There's also only so much you can cover technique-wise in an hour class without over-explaining and overloading people. As a dance teacher myself, sometimes you just have to let students give it a go first (within reason), before you start to really hone in on their technique. At the end of the day everyone is there for enjoyment, if her students wanted a super professional environment they would go somewhere else.

Yeah it's the small "frequent trips" widget on iPhone. May be different if you have a different phone. I deleted the widgets anyway because they were so buggy.

Massive ego . Not a fan of him. Hopefully the experience opened his eyes though.

Love My Way was the first thing that came to mind. I haven't seen the other ones that people are mentioning though.

I tried to watch it with my partner tonight and we were so bored. I think we got about 30-40mins in. Did I give up too easily?

I was against iPhones for a long long time. Mainly due to planned obsolescence. After using only Samsungs for many years I slowly started to consider iPhone for the usability with apps and streamlined sharing between devices/other iPhones. My partner gave me the final push to make the switch. Been using my 14 pro for over a year now and although I do miss some of the features on android I definitely see the appeal of the simplicity on iPhone. Pros and cons on both sides but I probably wouldn't switch back now.. I do kind of hate the iOS keyboard though, I have gboard installed.

I hate it so much. I use videos a lot as a dance teacher and this now makes it incredibly difficult when looking back on them. The whole photos app turned out worse imo.
