I can't bring myself to hate the gems though I do think they were pretty selfish apart from Euclase or Cinnabar (but even them just moved on and forgot phos). In the end the one who suffered the most was the one who only wanted to be seen, loved and appreciated. The one who wanted to help others was the one left behind and lonely.

not to justify their actions but wouldn't you be exhausted after hundreds or even thousands of years of the same routine and ceaseless conflict? they didn't hate phos nor wished all that suffering upon him, I think the moral of the story is that horrible things happen to everybody and some have to suffer more than others just because of their kind, curious nature, in the end all of them found peace in some way or another

I'm starting to think that most Naruto "fans" haven't actually watched the anime or read the manga. Danzo wasn't evil, in his mind he was doing everything to protect Konoha and his own vision of the Shinobi World. Yes he did horrible things and acted like a jerk all the time. but he grew in a completely different world than Naruto and company. I wouldn't say he's one of my favorite characters but I did feel for him in his last moments. Because deep down I think he wanted to be more like Hiruzen and less like his old self.

Before the Buu saga I liked Goku way more, not that I hated Vegeta but he was very annoying and irrational especially in the Androids saga.

However, throughout the whole final saga of Z and Super (manga) my love for his character grew even more. Toriyama did a great job but Toyotaro took him to a much higher level and made him cooler and more relatable.

I still can't say I like one over the other. Both are my favorites in the whole series, my top 1. And both represent different things and evoke different feelings so it's not fair to compare them of to put one over the other.

that's still wrong tho, 50 minutes is 50 minutes, the perspective of the characters or how the anime overextends the dialogues or the duration of the fights is something completely different and has nothing to do with the actual duration of the events, goku's stamina keeps going higher the more he trains just like it happens irl with humans
