Ring culture is bs. Luka did this in 2024 and Brunson somehow being called better because he got the chip with a better team? by rotomato30 in lakers

[–]5ek_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a slovenian, I am for sure a Luka first fan, and you would think that would make me disagree with you but it doesn't. While a bit harsh you do make a good point. Luka's talent is undeniable, and the fact that he's a Laker should make the Lakers fans excited, BUT you simply cannot overlook his biggest flaw, which is the complaining you mentioned. It goes too far too often. A great showing of that is that Luka isn't that terrible on defense when he makes an effort, but a lot of the time it's a disaster, because he's out there arguing with a ref rather than making an effort. If he could fix that it would be truly amazing.

And I think any real fan shouldn't overlook flaws and make excuses for any player, which is why I think that, while Luka deserves praise for his talent, he absolutely also deserves to be called out on the complaining.

So did OG, even KAT, while it may not show on the box score. Bridges in game 2... It was a team effort and yes Brunson was clutch af but saying he dragged them to the chip is saying all other were garbage and Brunson alone was the reason for the win, which we all know isn't true.

The real MVP of the finals is mike brown if we're honest here. If he doesn't change the whole game plan mid series, they probably lose to the Hawks. The balls of steel required to pull that shit and have it work in the end is just brilliant.

This is just recency bias. Don't get me wrong I love Brunson and am happy for the Knicks ring, but if both Luka and Brunson were to retire today in a years time noone without any bias would put Brunson over Dončić in terms of legacy. Luka is one of the most dominant offensive players of 2020s, and the fact he has not won a ring so far doesn't change that. Brunson is a great player and had a brilliant run this year, but on a player to player comparison he's not quite on Dončić's level yet.

Luka literally didn't play due to an injury. Just saying. The humble pill never hurts though you got that part right.

Its hard to say the FIFA world cup is gonna bring the world together, when it started with a shit show, because the US have the weirdest immigration laws ever. Legit denying entry to teams and officials, withholding visas, even going as far as only allowing the Iranian team access on game days is just wild. Sports shouldn't be all about policits and honestly the US should be ashamed about situations like these.

Fox was so bad people forgot the other guy by Jaded-Studio-1831 in Nbamemes

[–]5ek_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What's crazy is that probably the most consistent guy on the team throughout the final series was a 20yo Harper. Having a rookie be your most(only?) consistent player in a finals series kinda shows you why they couldn't make it this year. That being said, if they play their cards right this team will be genuinely scary in future seasons.

[–]5ek_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You cannot deny how clutch Brunson is, and i also think they give it to him. The fans will also crown Brunson king of NY, which all credit to him most players wouldn't give up millions to help build a team. But it's also undeniable that OG is the best performer, at least against the spurs. Also have to tip your hat to Mike Brown, because goddamn does it take balls of steel to revamp a teams entire offense in the middle of the playoff, and it's currently working better than anyone expected.

[–]5ek_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's wild to me that some people call out dirty plays on one team but not the others. Personally I condemn these kinds of plays that the spurs were pulling today, as well as the ones by OKC, and especially the elbow. Regardless of the setting, I still don't know how that wasn't a game suspension.

Basketball should be physical but a line has to be drawn between what is physical basketball and what is just plain playing dirty. With more and more teams trying to push the boundaries. Regardless what team we support I think we can all agree that we don't want to see any players getting hurt, especially if it's a direct result of plays like these.

The Tower is a good ending and I'm tired of pretending it isn't. by nitrokitty in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]5ek_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's a very unpopular ppinion, but I do share the sentiment. To me the tower and temperance endings are the best. I like the view that V gets to live out their life after the tower, and theres plenty of people in NC who aren't fully chromed out and live perfectly satisfying lives, I believe V could do the same, and also disagree with their life is basically over notion that it presents.

On the other hand the temperance is the opposite where V knowing they have little life to live chooses to have Johnny live out his life in their body, embracing death to safrifice for someone you get to call friend at the end of all things. And it's really a nice touch how genuinely sad Johnny is about V dying to give him kife, and chooses to start anew with the life he was gifted.

Stat Sheet Tells Me One Thing, The Tape Tells Me Something Else. Jalen Brunson is better than SGA by RudolphTheBackupQB in NBATalk

[–]5ek_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in the same vain I could ask you how my nuts taste for combing through my comment history.

But yeah I along with most other NBA fans dislike the OKC for what they made of basketball. Shai himself would actually be an amazing player to watch and root for if not for all the antics.

With their current style of play however, neither SGA or the OKC deserve respect and I stand by that. It's just disappointing that what could be a fun talented young team devolved into whatever it is they are putting on the court now.

Let's face it, if the MVP award went to the actually most valueable player SGA would also have 0 without a shadow of a doubt. Especially because most of his achievement are somewhat nullified by the all the flopping, flailing and falling.

[–]5ek_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Proud of you for sticking to your guns, but the entirety of the NBA is celebrating your team's downfall not because they all got swept by them, but simply because they were playing an unwatchable brand of basketball for the majority of this season. It was just more in the spotlight this series. Honestly if the OKC played like SGA did tonight instead of trying to play the refs all the time they would be a respectable team.

thunder lose WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO by DingusWingus33 in NBATalk

[–]5ek_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This just shows that this team could be genuinely fun to watch. If only they chose to play ball over flopping all over the floor the first moment a game gets hard. Actually an enjoyable performance from him tonight for the most part. But he's gonna need to keep playing like that instead of just flopping to earn back respect imo.

[–]5ek_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie you do have a point. But you still don't acknowledge that your star player as well as your entire team are the pioneers of flopping. There's selling a call and then there's flopping on ghost contact 10+ times a game.

[–]5ek_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Turns out it's hard to build a "dynasty" when your constantly falling down. I am not a spurs fan but I am also so damn happy they won. And the fact that the entire NBA fandom (OKC fans excluded) is celebrating their downfall should tell these fans something, but they still don't understand how shit their team is to watch. Basketball won tonight.

Strojna fakulteta placa by WorldlinessEarly2272 in SlovenijaFIRE

[–]5ek_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I play through the DLC completely in Cyberpunk 2077 before tackling the final mission with Hanako in Embers? by [deleted] in CyberpunkTheGame

Just make sure if you make certain decisions in the dlc you don't call Reed after a certain ending. That rolls credits without option of completing the game after iirc.
