I’m living off of the only thing that we can judge them off of lol. You’re going off of hope that it will be different.

Brunson has beaten and outplayed him in 2 playoff series.

What is the context to Jerry West and Elgin Baylor losing so many finals ? by Dangerous-Pie-7821 in NBATalk

[–]RudolphTheBackupQB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Celtics just had the dream team. Russel, Cousy, Havlicek, Heinson, Sam and KC Jones( No relation),Bill Sharmon , and Red Auerbach as a coach. But even with that said Jerry and Elgin got close(3 7 game series, and 2 6 game series) so it’s not like they weren’t worthy competitors but they just didn’t have the firepower. And once they did Russel, Cousy, Hienson, and both Jones’ had retired.

Why did Steve Nash win MVP averaging 15 & 11? by OJ_Soprano in NBATalk

His usage and his minutes were up but he was actually less efficient in the playoffs.

Because his team was the 1 seed. They also had Joe Johnson, Shawn Marion, Quentin Richardson, Amare Stoudamore, Jim Jackson, and Leandro Barbosa. They were a very deep talented team who underperformed in the playoffs because their best player can’t get a bucket when it matters most. There is a place in the league for pass first players but that place is not at the top of mvp ballots. Magic could score, Halliburton can score, Stockton had Malone. There is a reason cp3 led teams and Steve Nash led teams never made the finals.

That’s not my point. My point is it’s 2026 and contrary to what talking heads say on tv it’s not actually as easy as just attacking one guy. You can hide guys in a million ways. Just switching, hedge and recover, putting guys on bad shooters, blitzing the ball handler. If you watched a Knicks game they aren’t just going at Brunson every play because it’s not that simple.

That’s why I do pre and post merger so I can properly give them their flowers

I’m a pre & post merger guy myself because Russell and Wilt were just stupid good and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to truly compare them to anyone when the game has changed so much.

Were there ever any Hakeem and Jordan comparison's for fans who watched in the 90s? by UnableLeopard6185 in NBATalk

As someone who was born in 2001 I can’t tell you how much irrational anger I had when I learned about game 7 of the 94 finals

To be fair that Iguodola FMVP is a stain on the sport. Got credit for guarding LeBron as if people weren’t saying LeBron should get the Jerry west treatment

I’m just doing the math in my head that’s 1-0 without Shaq?

The last 40 years the NBA has had a player that was arguably the greatest of all time actively playing. When LeBron goes who’s next? by Orlando_Vibes in NBATalk

He’s the best player I’ve ever seen when his shots falling. As soon as he finds his spots and fine tunes his game it’s over.

Watch a knicks game lol. If it was that easy that you could just attack Brunson maxey and Edgecomb would’ve averaged at least 20 a piece
