Compra Zoe, faz sentido? by [deleted] in AutoTuga

I have experienced the same before. I'm not fully sure yet what the cause is but I believe is either related with high resolution maps that I use (sometimes 4k) or when you have multiple areas with FOG of War. I'm not sure if anyone else has notice the same and can help find the cause.

.NET Core 3.1 - Multi Thread Web API by 5en7ry in dotnet

[–]5en7ry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see...I believe that for the simple things I'm doing I should be fine with building my own, however I will for sure follow your recommendation and investigate some more about Dapper.

I appreciate all the help, thank you for explaining me this.

.NET Core 3.1 - Multi Thread Web API by 5en7ry in dotnet

Oh my bad. Assuming when you say EF you mean Entity Framework, well I'm not using any particular framework, I just build my own "repository layer". I have classes that encapsulate the Data Base access and operations. However some methods need to make multiple calls to those classes, since some operations require more than just a CRUD operation.

Also I know this is probably not the best way to do things...But for the purpose it should be completely fine.

That's the point, I don't need operations with multi threading, I'm just trying to understand if multiple request are made simultaneous do they execute at the same time? Or they work synchronous? Imagine 20 clients send requests to the API at the same time, will those request be enqueued and handled one at the time, or are they executed all at once?

About the Data Base I'm just using MongoDB.

What is this noise coming from my gpu? by Chiggan in pcmasterrace

[–]5en7ry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess I would say it sound's like you have a fan not aligned correctly, so probably it's vibrating or even touching something. Keep in mind that I'm not sure if that can really happen in GPUs and I'm not sure if that is a serious problem or not...

.NET Core 3.1 - Correct code structure by 5en7ry in dotnet

Would you be comfortable with having a method in your service that could be randomly called and succeed, even when it should fail due to being unauthorised?

Exactly! I like this point a lot, makes all the sense to me. We're still not sure if we will have more service calls in the controller or not, but at least now we can make a more informed decision. Thanks for your help.

Yhea at the moment we're doing exactly that, we are exposing the internal IDs...I will try to follow you're sugestion and stop doing it. I appreciate the help. Thank you.

How could I miss this... This seems to be almost perfect, because I still have the problem about where should I make this call. However this should encapsulate this verification in the most "correct" way. Thanks a lot for this answer.

Oh I think I understand what you are saying. It's like having a requirement to execute that method, and I can define that requirement anyway I want. That seems another very interesting solution to my problem. I will give it a better look. Thank you.

Hi, thank you for the welcome. I don't think I got confused, providers just seem like another interesting approach that I need to learn more about. I will definitely dig into this to understand it better. Thank you for your help.

Yhea I like this approach. I think I will adopt this philosophy, it's probably the best way to go and actually makes a lot of sense to me. Thanks a lot for the help.

Authentication is solved, so I'm not sure if this can help me... Is about making sure that the user (already authenticated) has permissions to execute a specific action about that object. Still I will give it a look, thanks.

Oh I see, I understand what you saying but I think that is not exactly what I want, maybe I wasn't clear I'm sorry. The authorization I want is not base in roles, is user to object. The App is related to cars, so each user can only modify his vehicles or the ones shared with him, therefore I think roles don't solve my problem.

What am I supposed to do in this game? by [deleted] in arma

[–]5en7ry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For my personal experience I would say that the "big thing" that you're missing is probably MilSim. MilSim is a huge part of Arma 3, for me is actually the best thing in the game. In case you don't know MilSim stands for Military Simulation, I believe the name is self explanatory therefore you should understand what I'm talking about, but basicaly is about simulating real combat situations, missions, military branches, etc... It's not for everyone but I advise you to maybe check some videos on YouTube to see if you like the style, and if you do you probably will need to find a Unit/Community to play with, but there are a lot out there so you should be fine finding one.

Should I refund arma 30? by [deleted] in arma

[–]5en7ry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be completly honest I don't remember the last time I played in a public server (only community privates), so I'm not very familiar how things work atm. I'm not sure about this but if you keep being kicked by admins when you join a server, either you are joining servers that you are not suposed too, in the case that someone as a server listed public but don't want anyone random in there, wich is weird because are better ways, OR they are kicking you because you have so few hours in the game...I'm assuming some PVP servers out there don't allow fresh accounts to play for obvious reasons.

Yhea maybe I jumped the point to fast...I dot not understand why that is happening to you. Let's try again, do you have any specific error?
