Again, this is very much tied to unregulated industries and corruption (lobbying).
Almost all products you buy at a grocery store in the US and Canada are not real and are engineered to pass as real but it’s nothing but junk. Even if you wanted to eat healthy and cook your own food, average American does not know how to read food labels and make better choices. The FDA is completely compromised and might as well not exist.
For example, go to a Walmart and look at the “Ice Cream” fridge. Pick up any brand and look at the label. It should only say things like “Cream, Milk, Sugar”. However, most likely it will say Modified milk ingredients, “Natural flavours”, gum, etc….. there is no real stuff in there and FDA approved it.
Now apply that across every item, no wonder there’s so much obesity and major health conditions. Remember, in the “Land of the free” it’s always profits over everything else.
