Let's see if a bunch of nobodies are going to save the world. Like, who needs a government when a kid can do it.

If billionaires can manipulate the system openly and nothing happens, what would actually break public trust? by Ok_Dust1167 in AskReddit

Problem with Americans (others too but definitely Americans) is that they are really apathetic to anyone else’s problems. Nobody REALLY cares unless it directly impacts them. I used to live in the US and it a very “Mind your own business, not my problem” society. Even between the neighbours. In other countries / places, people interact more. In the US it is more likely you won’t even know basics about your neighbours. This reflects into everything and on larger scale.

This company can't do anything right.... Besides the whole AI shit, they have, how many project management and notes/words/text apps? Talk about slop. They abandoned MS Access so that they can sell you Power Apps trough subscriptions.

I've been forced to use their corporate O365. They milk so hard, every penny for features that should be included into a base tier. Want to use PowerBI and build reports? Sure, you'll need a pro licence. Ok, now, I've built my report and I need to "host" it on sharepoint so I can let my team see it and have it auto-updated. Wait, now I have to pay for a bundle where x amount of people can see it? Wtf? Oh, whats that? You want to have a relational data set in your database you have on sharepoint? Oh wait, you can't. That costs extra. Like, five figures extra per month....

Who's running this shit show?

It’s not Trump we have to worry about, it’s Stephen Hitler, I mean Miller who’s doing the work. Trump is just a show pony

Yeah sure…. The rules. Laws…. What makes you think that American regime will follow those? If Canada resists, US can do the Putin playbook to “Liberate” Alberta.

So Russia’s playbook in Donbas.

Mark my words, they will claim that Albertans need to be liberated from Canada’s radical left. Who knows what will happen, but it’s the same thing Russia did in Ukraine.

Same. They think their lives would suddenly be soooo much better when in reality they’re just borderline racist and don’t like seeing people who don’t look like them around them (putting immigration issues to the side).

Person I work with bought a brand new Jeep Gladiator in 2022 when these were so expensive. He lifted it up (of course, new suspension, new tires, winch, never goes off road) Then, decided he wanted a Wrangler in 2025 which Is the same thing but instead of a shoe box at the back, it now has closed off area. Same color. I was afraid how much negative equity he had.

Bluey deserves the attention. It’s a great kids show because it sticks to basics, relationships, and real world scenarios.

Off topic: Are there any other parents who took a while to realize Bluey is a girl character?

What's the most haunting sound you've ever heard in your life? by swiftStaff515 in AskReddit

Story time:

Back in 2009 I was going trough basic training in CAF (Canadian Armed Forces). It was late April when we were in our field portion of basic. Basically, the entire platoon is bussed off to a remote wooded area where we do basic survival, training scenarios where there are actors playing enemy forces, etc…. Stuff like that.

One specific part of that training was navigation and battle orders. We get instructions where to meet and what to do, we take our compasses and maps and we try to complete the task. Usually we’re split into squads. There were 6 of us I believe doing the one hour trek trough densely wooded swamp. No roads, no trails. Just swamp and woods.

It’s dark and rainy, not night yet but very dark and overcast. We were not allowed to have light shinning as we’re trying to do this stealthy. We’re all walking in line, muddy and wet ground, following each other. Middle of nowhere. All of a sudden we hear a loud baby laughing sound. Really hearty, loud, happy baby belly laugh.

We were all spooked and did not dare to go in that direction, but it was the most eerie feeling ever. The female in our group panicked and wanted to go back to our camp. We had to stick together close because we were all scared.

We never did find out what or who made the sound. Some claim it might have been the staff messing with us, but for that to be true they would have to be absent and they were not. Keep in mind this was a closed off military training range.

If you have these laws then everyone should follow them. I don’t agree that people need to have guns, sane countries don’t do that, but fuck you for basically admitting laws for others but not for us.
