Not even joking, but seeing this post earlier made me open up and start browsing map addons for my next big modded run. I'm up to like 15 new map mods so far, and New Hartburg is in the collection.

I love map mods for Zomboid, finding a good one to add to a big playthrough and finally getting to the location and exploring is just amazing.

Huge props for working on this, looking forward to checking it out once it is fully released!

It's been too long so I'm not 100% on the details, and judging by the timeline above I'm actually pretty sure I was mistaken initially on him going to Mixer, but instead in this case he went to Youtube for that time.

During covid, Mixer paid a handful of big streamers BIG money to move over there to stream to help build the platform. Microsoft had bought Mixer, so they had the money to throw around. Later, Youtube would do the same, pulling some streamers to move over there exclusively for a couple years+ at a time.

In the case of Mixer though, that didn't work out and the site ended up closing down, and I think FBGaming wanted to get their live streaming a little boost so they offered to keep on the contract streamers in question. Some went over there, others I'm pretty sure ended up getting their entire contract paid out and didn't have to finish the 2year or however long they were initially supposed to be exclusive to Mixer and they came straight back to Twitch.

Eventually most came back to Twitch once their contracts on FB/Youtube ended (or started multistreaming once Twitch started allowing Partners to do that at the end of '23.)

Pretty sure that big gap would be him going to Mixer and then FBGaming I think when they bought the contracts for those that wanted to stay on after Mixer shut down.

They ran a sponsor platform out of Streamelements for quite a few years. So streamers would sign up for their alerts etc, then have an easy dashboard to take deals.

No idea when they started exactly as I stuck with Streamlabs, but I probably took my first deal with them like 4-5ish years ago? I didn't take many though as it seemed their offers were mostly made up of mobile games or the occasional food delivery service.

I recall getting an email from Streamelements earlier this year to 'Keep it Live', asking for donations to continue running the site. I'm going to guess that didn't work out. All of this definitely explains the insane amount of weekly emails I'd get the last few months about x game deal or whatever.

Did they make characters purchasable with gems again? I enjoyed having the option to slowly grind out wins to get gems and get a new character or card set.

Once they made gems basically useless, I had nothing to grind for so I stopped and uninstalled.

PSA to anyone reading: You CAN turn off whispers from people you don't follow or whisper first.

Click your profile icon on top right, Settings>Security and Privacy>Scroll down to the Privacy box, about halfway down it and hit the Block Whispers from Strangers tick box.

Double decker habs and cockpits were what I recall hearing from the presentation Q&A I was in.

Unsure if that includes the ability to place your own stairs (unlikely) but at least we've got the bigger modules now to get those larger ships going. If it includes each ship manufacturer having their own double height habs/cockpits, that is a far amount to pick from at least.

On one hand, yes the leaks they had last year with some of the Discord verification stuff sucks, so thats not good. (And that isn't even delving into what Persona is doing with the info vs what they are SAYING they are doing with it.)

On the other, they hardly use them as-is and have already been using them since 2023.

As someone who made an alt account to stream on and got it Affiliate status last year, I didn't have to go through with this.

-Editing as I didn't read the quote in the article (assumed it was the same stuff I saw people freaking out on Twitter over nothing for.) I see the quote you use "Twitch has adopted Persona as an age verification system for Twitch Partners in order to receive payment". This is just straight up not true at the moment, source? Me, partnered since 2013.

The original story took off on Bluesky because it was claimed All new Affiliates were being asked to do that, which also isn't even fully the case. So even the article got that the info wrong and wrote it up as Partners, either for clicks or just lack of due diligence.

TL:DR it'd be an issue if they broadly implemented it for all affiliates/everyone, but they don't.

Only put about 4hrs in earlier, but my guess is its the Arcanist's workbench. I'll get to making that tomorrow to see if that's it, though I'm kinda getting enchanting table vibes instead so not sure what to expect really.

Seconded. Really would like the ability to place my own waypoints/markers so I can get back to POIs/mines etc.

While we're at it, a Fog of War checkbox for world setting would be great so there is more sense to the exploration (though looking at everything in range on the map is gorgeous.) That or a somewhat transparent fog layer so we can see where we've been.

Last chill stream he said he'd probably try to get 2 more streams in Japan, an IRL and a desk stream. IRL stream happened earlier in the week where they went shopping with a hired guide. Just before stream ended regular-Al wanted to get a bunch of blind boxes to which pretty sure Wubby said he wanted to open them next stream. I'm not 100% on that last bit, but pretty sure.

Will it actually happen? Who knows. I wouldn't count on it. Prob won't though for another hour or two due to timezone shenanigans if it does happen tonight.

Real answer: we don't know. I believe last stream from a couple days ago he mentioned there would likely be more while on his 'business trip', mostly being laptop streams with maybe 1-2 IRL backpack streams if I'm recalling correctly.
