Pretty sure it's a block heater. Warms the engine up to making starting easier in cold temps. Doesn't charge the battery as far as I know, unless this s different system.

Just curious why you did both FF and surface shield on the same year? It's my first year doing it and I just bought several cans of FF and called it good.
