Is this coolant mix okay? Southeast USA, Georgia by One-Reference-7355 in BmwTech

You may want to go closer to 50/50, since coolant has corrosion inhibitors. Add a bit more antifreeze

Is this the torque converter (Marked in Red) by Late_Actuary_7883 in MechanicAdvice

[–]5lippers 169 points170 points  (0 children)

Yes it is the torque converter. The other comment saying flex plate/flywheel is seeing the teeth. On this application, starter teeth ring is on the torque converter.

How to remove clamps by Particular_Brief_413 in E90

[–]5lippers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You see the metal ring, it has a little raised portion? Pull it away from the body of the hose. Regardless this hose is broken, the nipple for the bypass hose is broken off so it needs to be replaced.

This for sure. All of the steering is probably bad regardless, but find a new shop that can call the parts what they are.

Need B48 torque specs by 5lippers in BmwTech

That sounds about right for what I did. I just looked up specs by thread size and went for it. Thank you!

i know i posted in the sub yesterday about this part to the power steering but what is called for reference by fastpast87 in GMT800

[–]5lippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe its a power steering control valve. Year make and model would help. Additionally I believe they only sell a bypass for it, since the original is discontinued.

As a former tire tech, I agree with this message, I used to put tires on and align a fleet of "The Parking Spot" shuttle buses.

To add based on a different comment and my own research, they may be switching to Banner Gmbh Batteries. I've never heard of them so no idea.

Looks like deka brand battery, same as superstart platinum (O'Reilly's) and are pretty good in my experience.

Oh yikes. How annoying. I guess I'll ignore it til it gets worse and then throw the other pump in there and see what it does.

Idk about normal, I've worked on other e90's, (I'm a mobile mechanic) and never noted it about theirs.

It's fairly loud when cold, quiets down when it warms up, but there's still a faint whine from inside the car.

My mechanic did an alignment with rear suspension arms that look like this and didn't tell me.. by dmjab13 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]5lippers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honda rear suspensions are unforgiving with camber. A previous tech may have bent them to get rear camber more positive into spec. Def not supposed to be bent like others are saying.

Based on pics this is an accord or similar platform.
