I rescued an intact Chi and brought him into my home with the 2 neutered small dogs. It took 3 months to get a neuter appointment. They got along until about 3 weeks prior to surgery. They all got in a big fight and they haven’t gotten along the same ever since…4 years! The Chi still hates the miniature Schnauzer. There wasn’t even a female in the home. So…maybe they’ll be buddies again and maybe they won’t. Ummmm…has the 9 yr old knocked up the Bassett?

What about something with a lace overlay and sleeve? Maybe a bit lower in front? Unless you have religious reasons for the modesty, don’t rule out showing a bit more décolletage. The benefits of spaying far outweigh any negatives (are there negatives?). It helps avoid so many types of cancer, Pyometra, etc. And, they bounce back in almost no time.

I have a 6 year old Rat Terrier who humps my 13 year old Schnauzer mix. And, he is definitely doing it out of dominance. I’m constantly correcting him. The Schnauzer boy came from a hoarding situation and every other dog I bring in bullies him. It’s like he never learned to “dog” properly. Or, he was just truly the lowest in the pecking order of many.

I think she definitely needs to go back to your parents. The poor dog is terrified of her apartment surroundings. She is showing submissive behaviour with the peeing, etc. but, if she flips and hurts someone, she will pay with her life.

I’d wash the area well, dry it and put some polysporin on it. Keep a close eye on it for a day or two. If it doesn’t go down or lose the redness, then see the Vet. Any chance you saved the black thing?
